Demanded early start of work under RGGVY and provide hassle free ration
KISHTWAR, JULY 03: - Vice President J&K PCC-G. M. Saroori has showed his deep concern over the mess in the electricity distribution system in entire Chenab valley.
While lambasting the state government Saroori said that the authorities have totally failed in ensuring round the clock supply of electricity to the consumers during the holy month of Ramzaan which is very unfortunate. He alleged that many a dozen villages of far-flung areas are without electricity supply from more than fortnight which has added to the miseries of poor people.
He said that the transformers in Chingam, Bamu Bhalessa, Kansoo, Teesa Sankoot, Kahara, Samal,Was Chatroo, Naikpura Chatroo, Karool Sarthal and Jakyas areas of Inderwal constituency are defunct from the last many days, as concerned department has taken no such step in order to repair and replace the defunct transformers thereby compelling thousands of inhabitants of these areas to live in dark. He has demanded that the electricity fare should also be remitted for the said time period.
Taking the PDD department in hands, Saroori asked if the department has spended an amount of Rs. 250 crores on buffer stocking of transformers then why hilly and backward areas were kept at the lurch and no such transformers were made available in chenab valley. Transformers from the workshops are being carried to the respective villages by the villagers themselves at their own expenses, which exposes the fake tall claims of government. "This huge amount has been incurred in maintaining and raising electricity infrastructure only in Jammu, thereby keeping Chenab valley unanimously at the bay", Saroori said while meeting with the people Chatroo.
Saroori asked the state government to ensure early start of work under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana” (RGGVY) phase II which would ensure electrification of left-out habitations. Power Development Department is at the helm of affairs and has failed in starting of work under RGGVY which has led to defunct electricity distribution system in Chenab valley.
MLA Inderwal was apprised by the people of Chatroo that sufficient supply of ration, fire wood and kerosene oil is not available in some parts of Sub-Division Chatroo. They informed Saroori that the people in remote areas are not getting necessary permission for falling dry trees as a result the residents are facing hardships.
Saroori impressed upon the Assistant Director CAPD and TSO's of Inderwal constituency to personally monitor the ration supply to far-flung and remote areas so that the poor people living in the Inderwal Assembly segment get hassle free supply of ration besides directed PDD authorities to ensure scheduled power supply to the consumer. “The people should not face any inconvenience on account of power during Ramadhan month and any negligence in this regard would be viewed seriously”, Saroori said and added that due care should be taken to check power pilferage.
