Saroori kick start on Thathri Cheera and Khara Chanyas roads

Phigsoo (Thathri), 12 January: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori kick start on two important link roads which includes Thathri to Cheera and Khara to Chanyas under the PMGSY scheme. The length of the roads are about 14 and 13kms which would be completed at a cost of 1,445.0 lakhs and 1315.0 lakhs respectively. A population of about 6,000 will be benefited with the construction of these roads.

Addressing a well attended public gathering on the occasion, Saroori said that on completion of this prestigious project a vast population of the area would be benefited, adding these people are presently confronting multiple hardships due to inadequate road communication.

He asked the Tehsildar Thathri Ghulam Nabi Malik and Executive Engineer PMGSY Thathri Isher Lal to monitor the ongoing PMGSY projects and ensure that the works are completed well on time.

He said that only Congress Government is committed to provide all basic amenities like health care, road connectivity to far flung areas, upgradition of schools, recruitment of staffs to various government schools and other basic necessities.

People of the area projected various demands which include Sub-Division for Thathri, Tehsil status to Phigsoo, Nayabat for Premnagar, up-gradation of Schools, building for Government Degree College Thathri, lift irrigation schemes, installation of hand pump, adequate drinking water facilities, uninterrupted electricity and employment of locals to Power projects.

He gave a patient hearing to the grievances of the people and assured that their genuine demands would be redressed soon.

Saroori also announced Rs one lakh from his CDF for Library and equipments for Higher Secondary school Jangalwar beside directed ZEO Thathri to immediately build additional two rooms.

Saroori thanked the central leadership of Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh and Rahul Gandhi for taking initiatives and sanctioning the Hydel projects for the State, which shall provide ample job avenues for the local educated skilled and semi-skilled youths.

He asked the Rural Development authorities to clear all back long payments of the job card holders and issuing these cards to the left out deserving families at the earliest.

Later Saroori chairs Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) meeting reviewed the progress achieved on the decisions taken in the previous meeting beside approved the proposed work under RKS CHC/PHC/AD for the current financial year.

Member Secretary RKS CHC Thathri (BMO) highlighted the problems of hospital.

Emphasising on providing best medicare facilities to the patients particularly those coming from the remote and inaccessible parts of the erstwhile district Doda, Saroori asked the medicos to work with missionary zeal and ensure timely medical assistance to every sufferer.

During the meeting several issues pertaining to betterment of health care infrastructure were discussed. Saroori assured that the problems would be taken up with the Government so as to strengthen the health care delivery system in the district.

Saroori directed Tehsil Officers, who are members of RKS to provide quality services like Water supply, Electric supply and better sanitation in the hospital.

Prominent among those Tehsil Thathri Officers, Sarpanches, Panches, Local Congress leaders and Workers beside people in large were present on the occasion.
