Need for taking concrete steps to avoid such mishaps in future: Saroori
Anantnag, August 24: - G. M. Saroori Vice President J&K Congress today visited district hospital Anantnag, Srinagar to enquire about the condition of those injured in yesterday’s Daksum road mishap.
The Congress leader directed the health authorities to provide free of cost medical facilities to the injured and ensure their early recovery. He also directed the authorities to provide meals and lodging to the attendants of the injured to ease their burden in this hour of distress. He also talked to injured persons and inquired about the treatment being provided to them at the hospital.
"I hope that the state government grants immediate relief to those injured and I want to thank the doctors as they took care of the patients extremely well," Saroori added.
Saroori said that there was a need for taking concrete steps to avoid such mishaps in future and said that Motor Vehicle department (MVD) would be directed to organise special ten day training camps for public transport drivers, especially in hilly and far flung areas. He also suggested for installing prominent sign boards at all the blind curves and accident prone locations along the hilly roads.
It is to mention here that sixteen passengers on Sunday sustained injuries in a road accident in Daksum Kokrenag area of South Kashmir. The accident occurred when a vehicle bearing registration number (JK17-3156) carrying passengers from Kishtwar to Srinagar skidded off the road near the tourist spot of Daksum. The accident happened when the driver lost control over his vehicle while negotiating a turn.
Those injured are as Naik Chand s/o Gosal Ram, Nihalal s/o Amar Chand, Raja Ram S/O Mangat Ram, Amira Davi W/O Sheri Krishan, Krishana Davi W/O Chand Prakash, Chand Prakash S/O Sanath Ram, Shami Davi W/O Roshan Lal, Geeta Davi D/O Kalash Kumar, Suresh Kumar S /O Premash Ram, Koshal Davi W/O Suresh Kumar, Santosh Thakur S/O Lal Chand (Driver) All Residence Of Mohal Chatroo Kishtwar Ruki Davi W/O Pana Lal, Fatima W/O Hassan Kumar R/O Sangdi Kishtwar, Om Praksh S/O Lakhni Sham R/O Paslimadan Sumal, Premi W/O Naib Chand R/O Mohal Chatroo and Ghula Hassan Kumar.
