Directed the R&B department to survey the road from Sinthan top to Phamber
under CRF
Phamber (Kishtwar), August 01: - Describing the natural beauty of erstwhile Doda district as Allah’s greatest gift, Vice President J&K Congress Mr. G. M. Saroori emphasized that promotion of tourism will always remain subservient to the conservation of our priceless environment.
Saroori who was on two days tour to Phamber area of district Kishtwar. He said huts will be developed in a planned way and construction for creating basic facilities for visitors by abiding to proper procedural norms.
“We should promote tourism by creating opportunities of growth and employment in the sector,” he said, while asserting the need for undertaking a massive publicity drive to promote un-explored destinations like Phamber, Bangar, Bimalnag, Panjal, Kasnaie, Yender Bets, Satkulan, Hapat Margi, Moudan, Sarpout, Kanvaas and other areas.
"Tourism will not develop unless it comes with the required paraphernalia. We have to be innovative in our thinking to make Chenab valley a leading tourist destination in the country and abroad. Tented accommodation and building eco-cottages at tourist resorts is one innovative way to increase the low intake capacity. Nature has bestowed us with beauty in abundance. We have to take steps to utilize idle tourism infrastructure at these nature spots for which Ghulam Nabi Azad former Chief Minister J&K has created New Tourism Development Authorities," Saroori said.
Inviting tourists to visit Phamber and explore its natural beauty, he said tourism is the backbone of the State’s economy and Government should make all efforts to promote its tourism potential.
"The previous Government NC-Congress has launched an incentive scheme under which people can convert a portion of their houses into lodges and guesthouses and a financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh is being provided to such intenders," he said. The government also provides necessary training in hospitality to the local youth for setting up their own ventures in tourism sector, Saroori said.
Saroori also instructed officials of Fisheries departments that some fisherman from outside are using bleaching powder in the river for fishing the fish, he directed SHO Chatroo and officials of Fisheries department to take strict action against those person and put them behind the bar who are using harmful things for fishing the fish.
Regarding the construction of road to Phamber Saroori directed the R&B department to survey the road from Sinthan top to Phamber under Central road funds (CRF) which will be the nearest route and asked them to send the proposal to higher authorities so that will take further steps in this regards.
Saroori further said that Bonda (Chatroo)-Chenger (Marwah), tunnel is the only way to connect Marwah and Warwan areas which will provide all weather connectivity to the two un-connected areas of Kishtwar district and said he will meet Minister for R&B Syed Altaf Hussain Bukhari regarding the road and tunnel matter as in 2010 when I was Minister R&B I have submitted the proposal for construction of road to Phamber under Militancy affected area.
Saroori also assured the Gujjar Bakarwal, ST Community, Choupan families living in Phamber areas that he will soon meet with Chief Minister J&K Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and will request him to visit the Phamber area. Later he distributed blankets among the ST community living in Phamber area and also released one lakhs rupees from his CDF for construction of bathrooms in Pahmber area.
