Congress lambasts govt for delay in filling vacant teacher’s posts

PDP-BJP government ordering the transferring of teachers from the schools on political base

Kishtwar, August 31: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, G. M. Saroori on Monday demanded that steps be taken on a war footing to fill vacancies in teacher’s posts in various government schools in the state.

Saroori asked how would the state government achieve ‘standards’ in education without providing necessary infrastructure facilities in schools and filling vacancies of teachers’ posts. He alleged that over 30,000 posts of teachers are lying vacant in the state which has hampered the functioning of schools and Colleges and affected student’s community studies to majority of students.

He said: “The Chief Minister and Education Minister always harp on bringing standards into our education system. But how is it possible without providing the logistics?”

“Lakhs of qualified youths are unemployed in the State and they will get employment by filling of these posts. People’s Democratic party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP have themselves promised ‘filling of teachers post’ in their election manifesto. However, nothing has been done so far,” Mr. Saroori lamented.

Taking dig at coalition PDP-BJP government, Saroori said that government transferring the teachers from the schools, should focus on filling the vacant teaching posts in various schools and colleges---even education minister announced that government will fill these posts soon but nothing is practically visible on ground” said Saroori.

He said that recently government order transfer of several teachers from Marwah, Warwan, Padder, Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Jakyas, Bhatyas, Kahara, Bunjwah, Thathri, Saroor, Sarthal, Thakrie, Kishtwar and other areas on political base and keeping the student community at lurch at the mercy of the god.

Saroori said that the education department shows helplessness in posting of teachers in the rural schools and asked government to take immediate steps to fill up all the vacant posts of teachers under the Education Department so that sufficient number of teachers can be posted to the schools to improve the studies of students.
