Action to be taken against errants
Saroori prays for speedy recovery of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed
Chatroo, January 04: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori conducted surprise inspection of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Chatroo of district Kishtwar.
The surprise check was conducted by the MLA Inderwal in view of the persistent complaints by the public regarding non-availability of medicos and paramedical staff in the hospital during odd hours.
People from sub-division Chatroo complained there were hardly any doctors to look after the patients while attributing this behavior due to the lack of strict action against the delinquent doctors despite tall claims by health authorities. Most of the doctors in Chatroo don’t even bother to attend their duties, people complained to MLA Inderwal, G. M Saroori.
“Why no action is being taken against erring doctors,” the angry people asked MLA Inderwal and appealed him to take up the matter with higher authorities and take exemplary action against the delinquents.
MLA Inderwal while inspecting PHC Chatroo found 5 staff members, including medicos and paramedics, absent from duty while only two pharmacists were present in the hospital. He also found 6 technical staff of the laboratory absent.
Saroori who is also a local MLA of the area, Telephonically informed the Commissioner Secretary for Health & Medical Education Department Dr. M.K. Bhandari and Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, and asked them to seek explanation from the absentees, including Block Medical Officer Chatroo, for negligence of duty.
He also asked Director Health Jammu to initiate action against doctors and staff who were found absent during a surprise visit.
During his surprise visit to PHC Chatroo, Saroori directed the medicos and paramedics to remain present in the hospital as per duty roaster and provide round the clock healthcare facilities to the people of sub-division Chatroo of district Kishtwar.
Saroori assured people of Chatroo that stringent action against would be taken against the absent doctors and other staff.
Meanwhile, expressing sadness over ill health of Chief Minister J&K Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Senior Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee leader Ghulam Mohammad Saroori prayed for his speedy & complete recovery,” Saroori tweeted on social networking site Twitter.
“I whole heartedly wish him to get well soon and to see him back to work,” Saroori said and added “I express my sympathies to his family members and stand with them in this hour of grief.”
