Winter Tutorial will start at HSS Jakyas within a week time
Jakyas, January 02: - Member of
legislative Assembly from Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today disclosed that
only 74 lakh souls out of JK’s 1.25 crore population will be covered if
National Food Security Act (NFSA) be implement in the state.
Saroori said this while addressing
the various public meetings at Bali, Jakyas A, Jakyas B, Bhatyas and Hanoo
areas of sub-division Gandoh of district Doda.
Chief Education Officer Doda Mohd Ashraf Rather, BDO Jakyas Idreez Ahmed Lone, officials from PHE and RDD were present on the occasion.
"We should look at pros and cons of the scheme and look whether the implementation of the Act would create shortage of food grains,” Saroori said and added that if NFSA is implemented around 10,000 quintals of ration will be shortage for the Gandoh area only as provided 35kg per family now.
He said that a large section of the
society especially those born in 2011 and onwards that has been left outside
the preview of subsidized ration be included in the same. The matter for
enhancement of coverage under NFSA should have been taken up with Government of
India, he demanded. He also cautioned that the NFSA should be implemented only
after addressing all the apprehensions of the people in the state.
Saroori also accused the government
of failing to implement its election promises of providing 50 kg ration per
family instead of 35kgs. He said that during election the coalition partners
were assuring the general public that caste votes in favour of us they will
raise the allocation of ration from 30 and 35 Kg to 50 Kg being provided by UPA
government but the assurance and poll promises have proved a hoax.
The main demands raised by the
locals included MGNREGA payment, replacing of damaged electric poles, shortage
of ration, unscheduled electricity, ensure availability of basic amenities
during winter season and other day to day problems.
On the demands of public, Saroori directed the officers to speed up the implementation of MGNREGA, so that more and more people living in rural and far-flung areas get benefitted from it, besides ensuring the asset creation. He said that funds have been released to clear the previous liabilities under MGNREGA and called upon the BDO Jakyas to ensure that timely wages are being released to the job seekers in lieu of work done in a transparent manner.
Saroori further said that Gandoh area having a vast population but did not find a space for Chief Minister's Super-50 Free Winter Tutorial. He directed the CEO Doda that as being started in other districts of the state the free tuition program for 10th and 12th class students should also be started in Gandoh area so that the poor students will avail of knowledge from the faulty and gets free tuition as it’s a initiative for students as well as medical and engineering aspirants of Jammu and Kashmir.

Inderwal and general public of Gandoh that the free tuition shall be started at
central place of sub-division Gandoh that is HSS Jakyas and within week time
the classes will be started by the faculty of Education Department.
Prominent among others Musarat Hussain Naik, Abdul Majeed Rahi, Parvez Ahmed Ganaie, Firoz Din Malik, Irshad Hussain Wani, Shamsudin Wani, Asgar Ali Sheikh, Ghulam Qadir, Sajjad Ahmed, Chowdhary Hasham Din, Chowdhary Liyaqat Ali, Ghulam Mohd Butt, Nissar Ahmed, Abdul Qayoom, Jora Butt, Bodh Raj, Kuldeep Kumar, Ashok Kumar, Abdul Gani Sheikh, prominent citizens besides local Congressmen and people in large number were present on the occasion.
