Estimates Committee meet

Express grief over the loss of lives of civilians who died during Kashmir unrest

Srinagar, October 20: A meeting of Committee on Estimates of Legislative Assembly was held here today under the chairmanship of Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.

Mubarak Gul, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Abdul Majid Paddar, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Ishfaq Ahmed Sheikh and Neelam Langeh attended the meeting. The members gave their suggestions to make the Committee vibrant in its functioning.

On the occasion, threadbare discussions were held on various issues including status and implementation of recommendations of the Committee.

The members assured the Chairman of their support and cooperation for further strengthening of the Committee so that it contributes in holistic development of the state.

The Committee observed two minute silence to express grief over the loss of lives of security & paramilitary forces, police personnel and civilians who died during the unrest.

Earlier, Syed Altaf Bukhari welcomed the members of the Committee in its introductory meeting and sought support and contribution to make the Committee more effective.

The Secretary Legislative Assembly apprised the Committee about the procedures and functioning of the Committee. He also apprised them about the previous report and recommendations of the Committee.
