Mehbooba Mufti has “failed and should” surrender by accepting that they “cannot” run the state
Kishtwar, October 13: - Vice President J&K Congress and Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Muhammad Saroori on Thursday said that RSS is a "threat to the secular fabric" of the country.
"The policies of the RSS are a threat to the secular fabric of the nation and the principle of unity and diversity, which is the basis of the strength of our pluralistic society," Mr Saroori said while talking with journalists at Kishtwar.
Saroori said Congress party would defeat the "communal and divisive forces" who were posing a threat to the country's peace and unity. "It is the commitment of Congress party to strengthen secularism and to defeat the communal and divisive forces in the country who are posing a threat to peace harmony, unity and integrity of the nation," he said.
“State government is acting irresponsibly by promoting RSS in this sensitive region as was seen in Kishtwar and a similar one that took place in Doda town few days back,”Saroori said and added that deliberate attempts were being made to "instigate" trouble and "vitiate" the atmosphere of religious harmony in the state and in the country. Hitting out at PDP, which is heading the coalition in the state with BJP, Saroori said, “RSS is BJP’s fountainhead and by allowing RSS to carry out anti-peace march that has a potential to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the state, the state government headed by PDP has proved that it’s being run by the RSS only.” “RSS is not only the threat to peace and stability in Muslim areas of Jammu region, but as a whole a threat to the secular frame of the country,” he said and added that PDP -BJP government led by Mehbooba Mufti has “failed and should” surrender by accepting that they “cannot” run the state.
Saroori said by using pellet guns on innocent Kashmiri people and on Muharram processions are the worst atrocities displayed by state government. “The killing of 12-year-old Junaid Ahmad is an open murder on streets of Kashmir,” he added. “The 7th class student was in no mean a threat to security.”
Congress Vice President further said that “It is shocking to know that BJP MLA from Kishtwar and MoS R&B, Sunil Kumar Sharma, was present in RSS dress at Vidya Mandir school Kishtwar where the RSS activists were together for the rally.” This is for the first time when such an activity has been allowed in the town by the administration, ignoring the sensitivities involved. He condemn such activities of a Minister.
"I caution the people of the state against the communal and divisive forces and ask them to defeat such nefarious designs in order to maintain the unity and integrity of the state," Saroori said and made an appeal to the people to strengthen religious harmony to bring peace for development and overall progress.
