Release the funds for clearance of MGNREGA liabilities in erstwhile district Doda: Saroori

Called upon Principal Secretary Finance, B.B.Vyas

Srinagar, August 29: - Congress MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today called upon Principal Secretary Finance, B.B.Vyas here at Summer capital Srinagar, and pressed him to release the money for early clearance of MGNREGA liabilities in erstwhile district Doda.

B B Vyas assured Saroori that within days Finance department will release the money to Rural Development Department (RDD) department for clearance of liabilities under MGNREGA.

It is pertinent to mention here that Erstwhile district Doda has Rs 65 crores liabilities under MGNREGA for that Union Government who has sanctioned 160 crores for clearance of liabilities and for new work in the state.

Government should allocate and release funds under district sector on constituency basis: Saroori


Gul directed the concerned departments to clear MGNREGA liability 

Srinagar, August 29: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori today on the floor of Assembly demanded that allocation and release of funds under District Plan should be considered on Constituency basis as per data generated.

Saroori criticize the way allocation and additionality of funds are distributed in the state. He stressed for timely release of funds under State and Centre Plans for completion of ongoing projects besides taking up of new projects in Inderwal Constituency.

Cutting across the party lines; the state government faced criticism from Congress MLA Inderwal G M Saroori for cutting down on the financial aid to the state’s “backward pockets.” Government would every year keep Rs 50 crore for the development of the “bad pockets”. “But only Rs 3 crore has been released this year, so far. How will this amount boost the development scenario in the bad pockets in the State?” Saroori questioned.

He also raised a finger on Planning Minister Ajay Sadhotra who was helpless in answering the queries of Saroori.Two MLAs of National Conference party join hand with Saroori and attacked Planning Minister on allocation of funds in their constituencies also. Irfan Shah and Peer Afaq both ruling NC MLAs also supported Saroori over the issue of allocation of funds in the last five and half years of governance in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Opposition People’s Democratic Party also supported Saroori over the issue.

Saroori during the zero hours also raised the question that labourers / Job card holders in Erstwhile district Doda have not been paid their wages since last one year, he pressed to speaker to give directions to Government for early arrangement of funds from Union Government and clearing of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Gurantee Act (MGNREGA) liabilities in Erstwhile Doda district. He also questioned that last years plan under Backward Regions Grant Fund (BRGF) is still pending for sanction/approval beside funds released for Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) cases remained unspent in Panchayat Karool A, B, C, Ghan and Poora Chandali in Drabshallah block, he demanded early sanctioning of the BRGF plan and spend of the funds for IAY cases in the panchayats at an earliest, so that the weakest sections of society will construct a house of respectable quality for their personal living.

In this regard J&K Speaker Mubarak Gul directed the concerned departments to clear liability of MGNREGA beside spend funds for IAY in Drabshallah block on priority bases as soon as possible.

Regularize all the daily wagers in the state: Saroori raised issue in the J&K Assembly

Srinagar, August 27: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA from Inderwal Assembly segment, G M Saroori today asked the government on the floor of Assembly to regularize all the daily wagers, casual labourers in the state.


“Shrugging off from responsibilities by either sides was against the public interests,” he said while asking the Government to regularise all those daily wagers, contractual staff, Adhoc, HR workers, casual labourers  who have completed seven years of service as per the norms in vogue, removal of pay anomalies, increase in remuneration and regularization of Rehbar-e-Taleem (ReTs) as general line teacher after completion of seven years of service, payment of wages etc of causal labourers, need based labourers and daily wagers, would have adverse implications on the general public.


“This hapless lot had been put to tremendous hardships despite toiling hard in pressing circumstances. It is irony of sorts that these workers are not being paid even minimum wages,”. He said it was a cruel joke with these youngsters, who have put in now about 10 years service in different departments following their adjustment against clear vacancies. He asked the government to dispense with ‘red tapeism’ and official wrangling vis-à-vis the files of adhocees and contractual lecturers.


Saroori revealed that according to the guideline of Sarav Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) teacher engaged through the Education Guarantee Scheme (EGS) of SSA will be regularised as general line teacher on completion of their seven years of service. He demanded immediate regularisation of ReTs in the state. He also demanded to regularize service of Education Volunteers (EVs) converted Rehbar-e-Taleem. He mentioned that first batch of EVs was engaged in March 2003, and none of teacher has regularised so far. “After working for two years as EVs and five years as ReTs, the candidates’ services are to be regularized,” he said. “However, even having worked for more than seven years, the authorities were negligent towards EVs volunteers,” Saroori  alleged.


He also demanded conversion of seasonal schools to mobile schools for Gujjar and Bakerwal communities and engagement of seasonal teachers to mobile schools at these schools, so that backward and far flung areas of the state may get benefited especially Gujjar Bakerwal community beside make a provision for regularization / absorption of 8000 youth engaged under National Youth Corps Scheme (NYCS), in any government departments.


“Government should take decision in the next cabinet meeting to pave the way for regularisation of all casual, need-based, seasonal, contractual and Adhoc labourers deployed in various departments of the state government since long,” Saroori said.


Saroori urged to Speaker J&K Mubarak Gul to give direction to the government to regularise the services of all daily wagers and casual labourers working in different departments in the state. Speaker directed Minister of state for Finance Dr Manohar Lal Sharma who was replying on behalf of DY CM Tara Chand to take look into all the matters on priority basis so that these workers may be regularised before the enforcement of Model Code of Conduct due to ensuing Assembly elections in the state, he said.

NSUI have demanded release of scholarship for the students

Thathri, August 26: - A meeting of National Students Union of India (NSUI) activists was held today under the chairmanship of NSUI district Kishtwar Vice President, Ahahmer Sehzad and have demanded release of scholarship for 4,000 students from J&K who got admission under the Prime Minister's special scholarship scheme (PMSS) for 2013-2014 session.

They said the demands of the students studying in various Govt Degree Colleges and Govt Polytechnic Colleges of Kishtwar and Doda which include hostel facility for students, provision of safe drinking water, introduction of more subjects like BCA, BBA and new subjects in arts stream. 

They also demanded premixing of the road from the main gate to the College building Kishtwar.
They appealed to Jammu University administration towards the Govt Degree College Kishtwar, Chatroo, Thathri, Doda regarding subject combination. It is the long pending demand of students of kishtwar and Doda.Despite reminders a number of times to give more subject combination, nothing has been done so far. They have requested the authorities of JU to introduce more subject combination in the college so that students of kishtwar may not suffer.

They have also strongly condemned the baseless propaganda spread by the petitioners against SSRB officials and board members who conducted the viva test of the Teacher aspirants of Kishtwar district. They urged upon the honorable Chief Justice of J&K for speedy disposal of the writ petitioner and urged upon him to vacate the stay of the list so that their hard work could meet the justice.

NSUI have also lauded Saroori sahib for his work in Khara belt of Doda district and have decided to conduct a door to door campaign in 9 panchayats of Khara belt with Youth Congress and Senior Congress Leaders for Congress candidate and present MLA Inderwal G M Saroori for upcoming Assembly election from Inderwal because Saroori sahib has played a iconic role in development process in Erstwhile district Doda in general and Inderwal in particular.

Many joins Congress in Gahan Sarthal; BJP, PDP, NC fanning communal fire, polarising voters: Mohd Aslam

Sarthal, August 25: - Chairman Adalti Ghan and Retired Teacher Shib Nath who was affiliated with PDP party along with his 50 supporters into Congress party in presence of Senior Congress Leader and Sarpanch Karool C, Mohammad Aslam Saroori here today at Ghan Sarthal .

Reposing his faith in the leadership of G M Saroori, Shib Nath and his supporters pledged to work for strengthening Congress at the grass roots level. He said he along with his supporters will work as foot soldier to make people aware about the forward looking policies of Congress.

Welcoming Shib Nath and his supporters into party fold, Mohammad Aslam said this will further strengthen the party in Ghan belt and help in reaching out to the people in a big way. “I am sure that this time also the people will reject the communal elements and will vote for the peace and development of the state in general and Inderwal in particular,” said Mohd Aslam while adding that PDP, BJP, NC only knows how to play with the religious sentiment of the masses at large. He stated that 12 years ago, Inderwal area was considered as the most far flung one in the state and no one used to bother to visit the region. “It is the efforts of Congress leadership and of Saroori sahib that now the people of Inderwal are feeling the pace of development themselves.” He said MLA Inderwal G M Saroori has made a network of roads in the area as Sarthal-Ghan road is completed, widening on Hasti-Ghan road is going on, beside work on Ghan-Chandali, Bimalnag-Bangar and Drabshalla-Tatani is going on and would be developed a tourist circuit. He said Saroori aims is that every remote and inaccessible villages should be provided the connectivity which would ensure socio-economic development.

Mohd Aslam also said that MLA Saroori has already passed direction to Xeen R&B Kishtwar to immediately inspect and speed up Hasti-Sarthal Devi Ji road as large number of people from across the state and outside take part in the Sri Sarthal Devi Mata Yatra every year.

Saroori lays foundation stone of Model village Kuchal and IWMP project Pakalan (Kish-19)

Inaugurated school building at Dramwagan

Kuchal (Chatroo), August 24: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori laid the foundation stone of Model Village at Kuchal of Block Chatroo, launched Integrated Watershed Management Programme by laying the foundation of entry point activities at village Mangthala Thakrie Pakalan (Kish-19) beside inaugurated government school building in Dramwagan, district Kishtwar on Sunday.

While speaking on the occasion, Saroori said that development works worth Rs 111.85 and 901.95 Lakhs will be undertaken in the village under the scheme for providing basic amenities to the inhabitants. He asked the Rural Development & IWMP Department to put their sincere efforts in developing the area on modern lines.

Responding to the reception of the crowd, Saroori said development of Inderwal has been a lifetime mission to him. He said Inderwal’s development is an open chapter for everyone to watch. He asked the people to make a comparison of what the area was 12 years ago and draw conclusions then only. He thanked the people of Inderwal for the continued support to him during the last 12 years saying he has been overwhelmed by the response and feels indebted to them. He assured the people that he would leave no stone unturned in getting people of the area their due share in governance and development and getting it at par with other developed cities and towns of the State.

Referring to the development of Inderwal during the period he represented it in the Assembly, Saroori said it was during his tenure that Inderwal got the first college, 12 higher secondary schools and 49 high schools. He said the number of middle schools, which stood at 26 before his representing the area, rose to 280. Similarly, he said, 430 more primary schools were opened. He said the road length in Inderwal stood at 55 kilometres in 2002 which has been increased to a whopping 500 kilometres or more as more and more areas and habitations are being covered through road networks, administrative units in every area. A score of people from villages of far flung areas of Kuchal, Keshwan, Mangthallah, Thakrie highlighted their day to day problems, Saroori assured the people that their genuine demands will be fulfilled in shortest possible time and in this regard gave on the spot necessary instructions to the concerned departments.

Saroori addresses mammoth gathering at Keshwan


Keshwan (Kishtwar), August 23: - Congress MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today was accorded a rousing reception by the public on way from Kuriya to Keshwan. People from various sections of society met Saroori and apprised him about day to day problems faced by them.

Saroori while addressing the gathering said CD block status has already been given to Thakrie and proposal for Tehsil status for Thakrie has already been submitted to state government beside assured the gathering that the area will be developed as a tourist destination and more developmental and schemes will be implemented in future time.

He cautioned people against the nefarious designs of divisive forces and such forces are hell bent to divide the society on regional and religious lines for their petty interests. However Congress party would not allow these elements to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere of the state.

Saroori launches Watershed works worth Rs. 9.01 crore at Kuriya Keshwan



Kuriya (Kishtwar), August 23: - Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori today launched Integrated Watershed Management Programme in Block Kishtwar by laying the foundation of Entry Point Activities at village Kuriya (Thakrie) and held a road show cum public meeting at Keshwan. The IWMP Project for the Keshwan (Kish-13) & Pakalan (Kish-19) has been sanctioned at an estimated cost of Rs 901.95 lakhs.

Saroori was accorded a rousing reception by the public on way to from Kuriya to Keshwan. People from various sections of society met Saroori and apprised him about day to day problems faced by them.

Saroori complimented the people of Thakrie, Kuriya, Sirgwari, Keshwan, Pakalan on getting this prestigious watershed Development project and enjoined upon the Panchayat representatives to extend their whole hearted support in implementing the project plan so that the objectives of rain harvesting conservation and socio-economic upliftment of the small and marginal farmers are met.

He also exhorted upon the officers to work in close coordination to facilitate the execution of the project works in a convergence mode with MGNERGA, NBA and other schemes. He said this would help in creating dependable infrastructure to make various farming in the area a profitable activity.

Saroori said many more projects under IWMP are offing for Inderwal constituency. He appealed the people of the watershed areas to cooperate with Watershed Development Teams (WDT) in identifying the sites for undertaking water harvesting infrastructures while treating the catchment areas of a particular micro watershed. Project Manager Balbir Singh gave a detailed resume of the implementation of the Integrate Watershed Management Programme in the Kishtwar district. Earlier, in his welcome address, Project assistant Firdous Ahmed dwelt in detail on the activities being taken up under the IWMP Projects. He explained the features of the watershed Programme and said that the project will cover an area of nearly 6013 hectare in ten Panchayats. District Level technical expert Dr Nowsheen said that the WDT are conducting the base-line survey of all the villages falling under the project with the active participation of the Gram Sabhas and the process of constitution of Watershed Committees is underway in all the micro-watershed areas, he added.

Among those IWMP Junior Engineers including Suhail Mir, Abhinav, Zaheer Ahmed , officers of various departments of Kishtwar, Om Prakash, Ronak Singh, Bashir Ahmed Thakrie, Ghulam Mouhideen, Sharvan Sharma, Krishan Lal, Mohd Saleem, Shahnawaz Ahmed, Farooq Kirapak, Abdul Hameed, Jabbar Ahmed, Jagdish Raj, Irshad Ahmed, local Congress leaders, Sarpanchs, panchs, Panchayat Adalat Members, besides a largely number of local people were present.

Saroori chair meeting of Lower Kaalnai and Patnazi Hydro electric power projects



Power project to give jobs to unemployed: Saroori

Kishtwar, August 22: - A meeting of Power Development Corporation (PDC) was held under the chairmanship of Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, G M Saroori today at his residence.

Threadbare discussion was held on working of the 48 MW lower Kalnai I and 21 MW Patnazi HEP.

Among others Superintendent Engineer Sagh Kumar, Executive Engineer R K Raina, Assistant Executive Engineer Qazi Saqib, Project Manager Sajay Law, Junior Engineer Irshad Ahmed were present in the meeting.

Saroori said all the submerged affected areas need immediate attention so that the further erosion of land and loss of property could be minimized. He stressed for early compensation to 11 Kanal and 4 Marlas to the resident of Kalnai Loopa and directed the officers to change the road alignment of the said road so that the affected people won’t face hardship in future time. He pressed for early disposal of all the matters and address the problem being faced by people. He also directed for early start of construction work on Sharekh to Naga up-to Burdhar road so that people of the area will get benefited.

Saroori was informed by the officials of PDC that on Public Private Partnership (PPP) Emergo India Ltd. got the tender of 21 MW Patnazi power project and they have started drilling work on the said project. They also said that JKPCC has not yet released the funds for 65 meter long steel bridge which is under construction over Kalgoni Nallah near Loopa, at a cost of Rs. 5.41 crore. They urged Saroori to take up the matter with state government for immediate completion, maintenance and up-gradation of 4 km Thathri- Loopa road, at a cost of Rs.4.50 crore. The bridge and road, on completion, would benefit 8,000 population of 10 habitations.

Saroori said JKPCC will release Rs50 Lakhs for Loopa brodge this decision was taken in PUC meeting held in Srinagar last week. He appealed to educated youth to develop a technical hand to avail job opportunities in power projects and has stressed for employing the local skilled and unskilled workers at suitable posts in lower Kalnai I and Patnazi Hydel Power Projects so that benefits of these projects percolate to the poor of Khara, Dunadi, Balgran, Bunjwah, Patnazi, Sharekh, Naga, Burdhar and other adjoining areas.

Later many Congress leaders from Inderwal constituency met Saroori wherein Saroori stressed for strengthening of party-public relationship. He advice them to work hard for the betterment and welfare of erstwhile district Doda.

Youth Congress office inaugurated at Khara Bhalessa



Khara, August 22: - The Youth Congress today opened its party office at Khara in Inderwal Assembly Segment. Senior Congress leaders from Khara inaugurated in presence of galaxy of Congress and Youth Congress leaders and party activist.

Sharik Ahmed Saroori, Mohd Iqbal Malik, Asif Iqbal and Ahmer Sehzad has played a major role in opening the Youth Congress Office at Khara.

Addressing party workers after inaugurating the office which includes Block President Khara Ghulam Haider Wani, Congress Working Block President Thathri Asgar Khangi, Working block president Khara Jai Dev, President IYC Inderwal Mohammad Latief Mughal, Bashir Ahmed Sirwal, Haji Ghulam Mohd Mir, Haji Abdul Latief, Abdul Rashid Kander, Shameem Wani, Asif Iqbal, Ahmer Sehzad, Imran Ahmed, Sabdar Wani, Akhtar Hussain Parray, Abdul Qayoom Butt, Abdul Majid, Nadeem Butt and Yasin Ahmed said that it was a high time to galvanize the party rank and file at all levels in view of upcoming Assembly election.

Later appointment orders were handed over to one Ramesh Kumar Bhagat S/o Shib Ram Resident of Badanoo Thathri as Block Congress Committee (BCC) Vice President Thathri, Bashir Ahmed Sirwal & Mohammad Latief Mughal (Rashid) has been appointed as Executive Members of District Congress Committee (DCC) Doda. Appointment was based on there efficiency, hard work for Congress party in the area. Newly appointed office bearers have been asked to activate the party affairs in various Panchayats and in entire Thathri and Khara blocks. Newly appointed party cadre extended thanks to Opposition Rajya Sabha Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, President JKPCC Prof. Saif Ud Din Soz, MLA Inderwal G M Saroori and President DCC Doda and MLC Naresh Kumar Gupta and assured that they will work for strengthening the organization in the area.

Saroori visited Rajouri shows anguish over deplorable condition of Rajouri to Thanamandi route



Paid obeisance at famous shrine Shadra Sharif; attended Wakf Council meeting

Rajouri, August 21: - Despite crores of rupees being spent on construction and improvement of National Highway roads in Jammu and Kashmir, General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF) has failed to maintain the National Highway and it's under deplorable condition especially Rajouri to Thanamandi route that connects famous 'Shadra Sharif' and Mugal road with rest of the country” This was said by Senior Congress Leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori while touring Rajouri district today.

“GREF who is responsible for maintaining 22 KM Rajouri-Thanamandi National Highway fail to maintain the road as people are suffering badly on this road stretch”, Saroori said. He (Saroori) shows anger towards GREF for their failure in making a comprehensive plan to tackle with the issue of continuous road blockade on this important road stretch having population of over 5 lakh souls with the rest of the state.

Saroori also paid paid obeisance at the famous Shrine Shadra Sharif and prayed for peace and prosperity for the people of the state. On the occasion many deputaions led by Mr. Mohd Iqbal Shawl Retired Professor, Chowdhary Maulana Lal Din, Mr. Rahi Sahab, Mr. Rashid Ahmed and others met Saroori and appraised him about the problem faced by general public of Rajouri due to bad condition of road from Rajouri to Thanamandi. Saroori gave patient hearing and assured the deputationist that he will take up the matter with BEACON chief engineer K.K Sharma for black topping, mettling/shingling on the said road at an earliest or to handover the road to state R&B department for maintenance which R&B can maintain far better than GREF.

Later Saroori attended the meeting of Wakf Council chaired by Minister for Public Enterprises, Haj, Auqaf and Floriculture, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed.

Magray said after visiting Inderwal constituency he has decided not to constest Assembly election and will support Saroori in the upcoming Assembly election who has done tremendous development in Inderwal constituency which includes massive construction of bridges, construction & widening of roads, buildings, establishment of Degree colleges at Thathri and Chatroo, Water filtration plant at Thathri and Chatroo, developing tourism spot, Dak Bungalow, Inspection Huts, new administrative units, sanctioning of new health institutes, construction and sanctioning of 100’s schools, ANM school, road connectivity every knock and corner except few villages, sanctioning of Rs4 crores for new PHC’s in Inderwal, sanctioning of 10 bedded hospitals for Nali and Patnazi, Water supply schemes, electricity to every village, Constructing power projects which includes Rattle, Lower Kalnai, Upper Kalnai, Chowdhary Project and many 10 MW projects, MGNREGA, water shed, IWMP, IHHL and ICDS and many more developmental work and schemes are being implemnted in Inderwal constituency because Saroori aimed at developing rural areas to meet people’s needs and growing demands.

He said lucidity, truthfulness & the dynamism of Saroori who seek equitable development, peace and prosperity for the area, has made him to support. He said Saroori has given new dimension to the development of Inderwal and has always remained heart-beat of people of the State and enjoys overwhelming support in every area, region of the State. He said the goal of peaceful and prosperous erstwhile Doda district could be achieved if all likeminded and people friendly leaders strengthen Saroori.

Youth Congress have appealed to youngsters to vote and come forward for campaign in Inderwal

PDP and NC candidates have no ground in Inderwal

Khara, August 19: - A meeting of Youth Congress was held today at Khara area of district Doda where they have appealed to all the youngsters to come forward and support MLA Inderwal G M Saroori for upcoming Assembly election from Inderwal constituency.

All the participants said that youngsters should not only vote for son of the soil Ghulam Mohammad Saroori but also come out to campaign in Inderwal. “Don’t just be voters, but be canvassers. Go to each house and lanes, ask them to vote for a strong government in J&K. That is for your own future,” Youth Congress appealed to youth.

They said PDP and NC candidates have no ground in Inderwal and "Hum unki zamanat zabt karke wapas bhejenge (We will send them back after they forfeit their security deposit) in the upcoming election from Inderwal. Citing an example they said PDP candidate from Inderwal Abdul Majid Butt has got only 67 out of 600 from his ancestral village Badanoo Thathri in the recently held parliament election, same is the condition of BJP. They also urged youth and locals to rise above caste and religion based politics and vote for the Congress party, while also asking them to remember development works done by Saroori during last 12 years for J&K state in general and Erstwhile district Doda in particular. They said Mr. Saroori is “the only suitable candidate to safeguard our interest in the Assembly”.

Sarthal (Kishtwar), August 19: - Several workers of a political party joined Indian National Congress before Sarpanch Karool C Mohammad Aslam Saroori at MLA Inderwal ancestor village Sarthal.

Those who joined include Naresh Kumar S/o Shaadi Lal resident of Karoora Saroor, Rakesh Kumar S/o Roshan Lal, Maan Singh, Sanjay Kumar, Jevan Lal, Hari Ram, Dev Raj, Joti Ram, Girdari Lal, Krishan Chand, Pritam Singh and others.

Mohammad Aslam Saroori has played a major role to bring these leaders in Congress fold. New entrants in the Congress party said they will leave no stone unturned to implement the policies and programmes of Congress in the district and mark the victory of son of soil and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori in the 2014 Assembly election.

Welcoming them into party’s fold Mohd Aslam said MLA Inderwal G M Saroori has always stood for the high principles of brotherhood, amity and secularism in the State.  He urged new comers to whole heartedly support the policies and programme of the Congress Party. He hoped that there decision to join Congress would definitely boost the morale of Congressmen in the forthcoming Assembly election. He asked people to thwart every such act with full might for ensuring sustained development of the State. Without naming National Conference (NC), People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) he said that people must understand the nefarious design of certain ‘disgruntled forces’, who are trying to disturb the peaceful environs in the State. He said peace is vital for the implementation of welfare schemes and developmental activities.

Saroori called upon Azad; thanks for sanctioning 23 new sub-centers for Inderwal

New Delhi, August 18: - Senior Congress Leader & MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today called upon Senior Congress Leader and Opposition Rajya Sabha Leader, Ghulam Nabi Azad in the capital to discuss latest political and development scenario in Jammu and Kashmir especially of Erstwhile district Doda.

Saroori personally met with Mr. Azad and conveyed special thanks for sanctioning 23 new Health Institutions (Sub-Centre’s) for Inderwal Constituency and said such a step would improve health services in the unserved areas of the state especially rural areas.

He urged Mr. Azad to take up the matter with state government for early start of work on newly sanctioned Primary Health Centre (PHC) for which the then Union Health Minister, G N Azad had sanctioned Rs4 crore for each PHC’s which include building for PHC’s, Quarters for Doctor’s residential purpose to which Rs20 Lakh’s have already been released as 1st instalment but the state government has yet not started the work on these PHC’s.

Saroori also urged to take up the matter of non release of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA) payment with Union Rural Development Ministry for early release of pending wages to MGNREGA job card holders. He also said that the delay in the launch of MGNREGA works complicates the problems of labourers and BPL populace, who derive sustenance under the programme. He urged for timely execution as it is essentially designed to generate employment for the poor and provide them wage security.

He informed Mr. Azad that Union Government is contemplating to hand over the road of National Highway 1B to State R&B department in which 1300 labourers are engaged with General Reserve Engineering Force (GREF) in which 1,000 are working on Kishtwar Sinthan road from the last 20 years. He demanded that GREF should clear all the wages, EPF and all dues to Labourer’s under labour act before handing over the said National Highway to state R&B department beside should release Rs 324 crores for maintenance of Kishtwar-Sinthan road.

Saroori also urged Mr. Azad to take up the matter with state government for early commencement of session in the 4 new medical institutions in J&K including one in erstwhile Doda district which was yet another gift for the people of the state from Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad adding that such a step would significantly improve health facilities and medical education opportunities across the state”, Saroori said.

Mr. Azad gave patient hearing to Saroori and assured that he will leave n stone unturned to solve the genuine problems of general public. In a message to Saroori he has urged the people of Jammu and Kashmir to strengthen the vote base of Congress Party by ensuring the victory of Congress MLA's to take the State on the path of progress, prosperity and harmony. “I need all seats from erstwhile district Doda which comprises of Kishtwar, Inderwal, Doda, Bhaderwah, Ramban and Banihal constituencies and I am sure we will form the Government in State. If we come to power I promise you all, we will serve the people in the best possible manner and unfold a structure of governance, based on efficiency, transparency and equity” he said while meeting with Mr. Saroori asking him to gear up for the Assembly election which is likely to be held in November this year.


It is pertinent to mention here that earlier Mr. Azad during his tenure as Union Health Minister had sanctioned Super speciality Hospitals one each for Jammu and Kahmir regions beside sanctioned Rs14 crore for procurement of 200 ambulances for Jammu and Kashmir and 600 new sub-centres including 238 in hilly and remote areas for J&K, 4 new Medical colleges, Cancers hospitals and many other schemes which directly benefit the patients just to boost the health sector in the state.

68th Independence Day celebrated in district Kishtwar and Doda with gaiety

Kishtwar, August 16: - The Independence day was celebrated at Tehsil Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Drabshallah, Bunjwah, Thathri, Khara, Bhalessa beside at Chingam, Thakrie, Saroor, Sarthal, areas of district Kishtwar and Doda with great zeal, enthusiasm and with traditional gaiety where all the Tehsildars of respective Tehsils unfurled the National Flags and took salute at the march past by the contingents of STF, army, JKAP, JKP, Forest Protection Force, NCC cadets and students of different institutions participated in the parade.

MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori who has attended Independence Day function at Parade ground Jammu has made an appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of 68th Independence Day to maintain peace, amity and brotherhood in the State due to which development and prosperity is ensured in the state in general and in erstwhile district Doda (Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban) in general. Kishtwar, August 16: - Tehsildars Niyaz Ahmed Wani and Ahmed assumed the office of newly created Tehsils including Drabshallah headquater at Dugga and Bunjwah of district Kishtwar in the presence of large number of people. Girdawars, Patwaris and other officers of Kishtwar accompanied the newly appointed Tehsildars.

Kishtwar, August 14: - People of Inderwal constituency on Thursday welcomed Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Congress MLA from Inderwal for his strenuous efforts to ensure new Medical Health centres for Pura Ghan and Angara Sarthal besides sanctioning of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) store at Bhagra Angara. People of Sarthal distributed sweets and danced to the beats of Dhols to celebrate this historic decision.

A meeting was held at Sarthal under the chairmanship of Senior Congress Leader from Inderwal and Sarthal Karool C, Mohammad Aslam Saroori where all the people from all the walks participated and thanks MLA Inderwal G M Saroori for sanctioning Medical Health centres for the Angara and Pura Sarthal areas which were long pending demand of the people of this hilly and backward areas who faced a-lot of problems.
