Maintain peace, amity and brotherhood in the State: Saroori


68th Independence Day celebrated in district Kishtwar and Doda with gaiety

Kishtwar, August 16: - The Independence day was celebrated at Tehsil Chatroo, Mugalmaidan, Drabshallah, Bunjwah, Thathri, Khara, Bhalessa beside at Chingam, Thakrie, Saroor, Sarthal, areas of district Kishtwar and Doda with great zeal, enthusiasm and with traditional gaiety where all the Tehsildars of respective Tehsils unfurled the National Flags and took salute at the march past by the contingents of STF, army, JKAP, JKP, Forest Protection Force, NCC cadets and students of different institutions participated in the parade.

MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori who has attended Independence Day function at Parade ground Jammu has made an appeal to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the eve of 68th Independence Day to maintain peace, amity and brotherhood in the State due to which development and prosperity is ensured in the state in general and in erstwhile district Doda (Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban) in general. He cautioned the people against rumour mongers and impressed upon them not to get carried away by rumours but ascertain truth and show wisdom while reacting to any event.

Tehsildar Chatroo Ghulam Nabi Malik, Tehsil Mugalmaidan Parveez Ahmed, Tehsildar Drabshallah Niaz Ahmed Wani, Tehsildar Bunjwah Masood Ahmed, Tehsldar Thathri Mohsin Ahanger, Tehsildar Khara Majid Jahangir, Army 8RR Bimalnag Company Commander unfurled National Flag at Tatani Saroor, 11 RR Army Commander unfurled National Flag at Chingam, Principals of various Higher Secondary schools of Inderwal constituency unfurled National Flag followed by National Anthem in their respective areas. A large number of people from all the walks, officers and employees of all the Tehsils of Inderwal constituency with their families, prominent citizens witnessed the functions.

Speaking on the occasion Chief Guests greeted the people on the occasion and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and stressed on the importance of Independence Day. They also reminded them of the supreme sacrifices made by the leaders of the freedom struggle of the country. They said that today the state is witnessing development in all spheres and district Kishtwar and Doda is also marching towards peace and development. They also gave a resume of the activities launched by the army and state government for the all round development in the Inderwal constituency under the dynamic leadership of MLA Inderwal G M Saroori. They also lauded Mr. Saroori for his brilliant work as MLA not only in Inderwal but in whole erstwhile district Doda that is committed to the welfare of the poor and the downtrodden in the State and for sanctioning new administrative units in the area.

The school children from the neighboring schools presented cultural programme on themes of National Integration with complete enthusiasm and vigor. On conclusion of the events, Chief Guests presented gifts to the participants beside distribution of sweets to the children and audience.

The Chief Guests witnessed the programme along with a large number of parents, dignitaries from the civil administration, prominent citizen, Sarpanchs, Panchs, officers of all departments, political and social workers were present in the Independence Day celebration function.
