5 families rehabilitated in Thathri; many livestock died.

Saroori urge the Union government to announce package so that the infrastructure be restored and compensation be paid to the victims.

Thathri, September 06: - At least 5 families of 18 members in small landslide-affected Painalla village have been rehabilitated by the Administration of Sub-Division Thathri and Tehsil Drabshalla.

One of villager from village Painalla telephonically informed MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori that due to continuous rainfall there is a threat of landslide and flood in the area. Taking note of the people problems Saroori telephonically directed the Tehsildar Thathri Mr. Mohsin Ali, Tehsildar Drabshallah Mr. Niaz Ahmed Wani and SHO Drabshalla to immediately launch the rescue operation in Painalla.


Later Police in collaboration with civil administration have launched rescue operation at Painalla and five families having 18 members have been shifted to Dak Bungalow Thathri on the direction of G M Saroori. Ration and other necessary amenities have been provided to the sufferers by CAPD Thathri. Mr. Saroori have assured all possible help to the victims of this Natural disaster.


A scores of people from Phamar, Bhanger, Sinthan Top, Maidan, Kasnai, Panjal and Kither areas have telephonically appraised MLA Inderwal GM Saroori about their problems due to heavy rainfall. They also disclosed that due to heavy rainfall many cattle sheds were perished and resulted into death of many livestock's.


Many people from Buddhar Saroor, Chatroo, Patnazi Bunjwah, Trankel, Bhalessa areas have informed Mr. Saroori that there houses have partially damaged due to heavy rainfall and Flash-flood in the area since last couple of days.


Reassuring the public of Inderwal, “At this stage our immediate focus is to rescue the people are trapped in the floods and shifted to safer zones. And once the weather condition becomes stable, Our next challenge is to rehabilitate the people who have been affected the rains and the list of affected people with full damages of crops, live stocks and property must be prepared by the revenue authorities so that relief measures are initiated.” Saroori said.


Sarori today urged all the officers of Inderwal constituency to remain available to the people round the clock and monitor the situation. He also took up the matter for protection of "EID GAH" and Tourism structures in Chatroo area as water level has dramatically increased in the area with DDC Kishtwar Mr. Mohd Javed Khan and directed SSP Kishtwar Mr. Sanjay Singh to form a rescue teams at each police station and police Post level in Inderwal to come to rescue of people in distress.


Saroori urge the Union government to immediately announce a package for the J&K State from Natural Calamity Relief Fund so that the badly damaged public infrastructures like bridges, roads, electricity, drinking water supply, sewerage, etc  is restored and due compensation to the people who have incurred losses by way of damage to houses, crops, live stocks, etc. is paid,” said Saroori. Leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad along with Minister Rigzin Jora, Peerzad Mohd Sayeed, MLA G M Saroori, Ex MLA Haji Abdul Rashid, Channi Singh, Salman Nizami, administration from Srinagar visited flood affected areas including Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla, Bemina colony at Haj House, and Srinagar city.
