Congress team visits medical camps, set up one more medical camp at Jawahar Nagar



Saroori distributed relief among needy people; Carry out rehabilitation and restoration works on a war-footing

Srinagar, September 26: - In an effort to reach out to the flood affected persons, various efforts have been made by extending all possible assistance and in this endeavor, Congress team headed by member of J&K Congress relief committee and MLA Inderwal, G. M. Saroori today visited the Medical camps set up by Ghulam Nabi Azad and assured the people that Congress party will provide every possible help to them.

Accompanied by Haji Abdul Rashid Dar- Former Minister, Mohd Amin Bhatt-General Secretary PCC, Salman Nizami- Joint Secretary PCC, Kadfeem Chowdhary- Member PCC, President Indian Youth Congress (IYC) Lok Sabha Srinagar Sheikh Aamir Rasool, Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, Asif Baig and others visited Lal Chowk, Tangpora, Nishat, Jawahar Nagar Band, Karan Nagar, Shaheed Gunj, Rawal Pura, Pampore and Narbal areas.

Saroori interacted with local residents in these medical camps who apprised him about various issues confronting them. He conveyed his sympathies to the people and assured all possible support in helping them overcome the debilitating impact of devastating floods.

He also appreciated the efforts of the youth volunteers and other agencies in the relief and rescue operations adding that their timely intervention saved hundreds of lives and minimised the human sufferings to a large extent.

Congress team today set up another medical camp at Jawahar Nagar area which have population of more than fifty thousands and also provided more doctors who have incurred Post Graduate (PG’s) Medical degrees & medicines of branded companies including Cipla, Cadilla, Wenz, Biochem, Olcare, Elder etc for the smooth functioning of these camps. In each camp two doctors have been deputed along with an assistant. They also distributed medicines, adequate supply of Chlorine tablets was provided in these camps beside distributed relief which includes blanket, baby food, clothes, essential things, anti-mask appliances etc among the needy people who were badly hit by the disastrous floods early this month.

Saroori also urge state government to pass on necessary instructions to the concerned officials for carrying out rehabilitation and restoration works as soon as possible. He said efforts should be made double to assess the damage caused to the houses, crops, cattle, etc and accomplishes mission rehabilitation on a war-footing.

During these free medical camps, teams of doctors and other paramedical staff provided consultation and counseling to the needy of all age groups including children, women and elders. Besides health examination the experts also educated the visitors about water borne and other communicable diseases and made them aware about the precautions to be taken to prevent these diseases.

Public in general have hailed the efforts of Mr. Azad, Smt. Ambica Soni and a congress team headed by Mr. Saroori by providing such medical facilities at their door steps.
