Saroori native village Sarthal-Ghan road opens for Vehicular movements.

Azad took the matter with state government for early payment of MGNREGA Job card holders

Sarthal, September 25: - MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori native village road 6km long Sarthal-Ghan which was constructed by Roads and building (R&B) department at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crores was made open today for vehicular movement by Senior Congress leader and Sarpanch of the area, Mohammad Aslam Saroori.

The said road was completed two months ago but it was closed due to sinking of road patch and continuous landslides zone in KM 24 (RD 425-600), after working day and night department today opened the road for the vehicular movements.

While addressing the gatherings on the occasion Sarpanch Karool C, Mohd Aslam said road connectivity was priority of MLA Inderwal G. M. Saroori and every part of Sarthal would be connected through a viable network.

He further said that by connecting Sarthal-Ghan road which would ensure socio-economic development of the area, besides pace of development in other spheres of life is also accelerated.

People of the area thanked Mr. Saroori for taking keen interest in early completion of Sarthal-Ghan and opening of the said road on war footing.

The people also apprised Sarpanch Mohd Aslam about the problems being faced by them in their areas. The problems which were highlighted by people mainly related early completion of PMGSY Duri-Ghan road and other links roads, issue of new ration cards for BPL, potable drinking water, Solar Lights and early payment of MGNREGA job card holders.

Mohd Aslam gave patient hearing to all the demands and assured general public of Sarthal that PMGSY department who is constructing Duri-Ghan road at an estimated cost of Rs6 crores will be completed on time bond period.

Regarding MGNREGA payment Mohd Aslam informed general public that MLA Inderwal G. M. Saroori already met with principal Secretary Finance, B.B.Vyas, and pressed him to release the funds for early clearance of MGNREGA liabilities in erstwhile district Doda but due to flood in Srinagar, government did not release a funds for the MGNREGA payment.

He further informed that on the request of G M Saroori-MLA, today Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad have also took the matter with state government for early release of MGNREGA payment. He said before the EID job card holders will get payment under MGNREGA.

It is pertinent to mention here that Erstwhile district Doda including Inderwal has Rs 65 crores liabilities under MGNREGA for that Union Government who has sanctioned Rs160 crores for clearance of liabilities in Jammu region besides Rs 40 crore against cost of the material used for projects under MGNREGA. People of erstwhile Doda district have appealed to state government for early release of payment under MGNREGA.
