Vikar, Saroori visits Srinagar city; promises support, cooperation




Set up medical, rehabilitation camps

Srinagar, September 28: - Continuing with their efforts to reach out to the flood affected people of J&K, MOS Technical Education, Power & Information, Vikar Rasool Wani and Member of J&K Congress relief committee and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today set up one more Medical camp here at Shalimar and visited various relief camps set up by Ghulam Nabi Azad & local people's in Srinagar.

Vikar, Saroori, who visited Chashmashahi, Sonawar, Brang, Umama, Nishat, Shalimar, Karan Nagar, Shaheed Gunj, Rawal Pura, Pampore and Narbal heard the woes of the people and have an assessment of the damage caused due to incessant rains and ravaging floods.

People at all the places explained to them the trauma which they had to undergo while incessant rains and flash floods lashed the State leaving behind a trail of ruin and destruction and have demanded long term flood control measures in the valley. While narrating their hardships and woes, people took them around village after village to apprise Vikar, Saroori and other Congress leaders to show the tell-tale scenes of devastation caused by flood waters.

Expressing solidarity with the flood affected peoples Vikar & Saroori assured them that Congress party wholehearted will support in nudging the Central & State Governments to come forth in a big way to help them rebuild their lives.

Vikar, Saroori also assured the affected people that every possible action would be taken to reconstruct their homes. They said the Congress would ensure that the affected people would receive compensation for their losses.

“We will keep this practice continue till all the people of the affected areas would be rehabilitated and would be provided with full medical treatment,” said Saroori who is heading the Congress team.

Congress leaders said that Ghulam Nabi Azad is organizing more camps in the flood affected areas where water level has comes down. The team of Doctors coming from Delhi, Karnataka and other states of India who are providing consultation and counseling to the needy and made them aware about the precautions to be taken to prevent various diseases.

He is also trying to rehabilitate people by providing necessities like water, rice, clothes, ration and more medical aid which is coming through Ghulam Nabi Azad into the state and is distributed by Azad team here in Srinagar headed by G. M. Saroori, MLA Inderwal.

Vikar & Saroori further said that Ghulam Nabi Azad has also discussed the matter with the AICC President Sonia Gandhi and AICC Vice President Rahul Gandhi regarding the relief and rehabilitation to the J&K. Whereas Azad is been given full support by the Congress high command that congress party will not leave any stone unturned to provide rehabilitation package or relief to J&K and Sonia Gandhi & Rahul Gandhi are personally visiting J&K on 29th September for two days visit.

Others prominent who accompanied Vikar and Saroori are Haji Abdul Rashid Dar- Former Minister, Mohd Amin Bhatt-General Secretary PCC, Bilal Ahmed Peer-Senior Congress Leader, Salman Nizami- Joint Secretary PCC, Kadfeem Chowdhary- Member PCC, President Indian Youth Congress (IYC) Lok Sabha Srinagar Sheikh Aamir Rasool, Manzoor Ahmed Bhat, Asif Baig Congress leader and others.
