KAHARA, SEPTEMBER 03: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today said he is committed of providing access of electricity to every village in the block Kahara of Inderwal constituency by September 2019.

Mr. Saroori was addressing series of public meetings here at Chabba, Batogra, Butt Mohallah, Fareedabad, Gwas, Naan, Trankhle, Malanoo areas of Tehsil Kahara, in Inderwal constituency.

The village electrification drive was covered under the Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) phase II, Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojna (DDUJY) and Saubhagya schemes. He said these schemes remained a non-starter because of no response from the contractors, now finally these schemes have been allotted and the work will be started within a period of a month.

Under these schemes, it had aimed to connect all the villages with electricity and all the villages have been sanctioned. The list of un-electrified villages of Inderwal constituency was submitted to higher authorities for sanctioning one in 2013, another one in 2015 and recently in 2017. He said electrifying all villages of Inderwal constituency is one of the most important promises and I am committed to fulfilling during this tenure. Describing electrification as a prime mover for rural development, Saroori said it is one of the basic amenities for all the people and power is pre-requisite for all activities and contributes significantly in increasing agricultural productivity, jobs and income generation avenues.

At Batogra, Reiterating Congress party to resolve change fate of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr. Saroori said that only Congress party has a visionary agenda to solve political, economic and developmental problems of the State. He said that Congress has formulated its visionary agenda by incorporating wishes and aspirations of all sections of the society.

Mr. Saroori said that on the one hand Congress has bigger agenda to solve internal and external dimensions of Kashmir problem while on the hand party has programmes and policies to provide basic amenities to the people Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. He reminded the people the previous UPA led government had implemented its pro-people agenda and set an example of good governance. “Congress leaders don’t indulge in self praising but the people have themselves realized that the Congress government had taken radical steps to solve day today problems of the common masses and to bring transparency and accountability in the governance”, he said and reminded that it was all due to sincere efforts of Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Ghulam Nabi Azad that our government had earned credibility of the people as compared to present regime.

Calling upon the people to compare PDP-BJP regime mis-governance with 36 months short tenure of Ghulam Nabi Azad, he said that we had mitigated woes of the common masses through our pro-people policies. He mentioned during that period supply of basic amenities like power, water and ration were streamlined and sincere steps were taken to solve day today problems of the people.

Mr. Saroori also inspected the Kahara-Trankhle Bridge which was completed one week ago and thrown open for public. While inspecting the ongoing road work for Trankhle village, he said that road connectivity to hilly, far flung and rural areas are the prime requirement for their growth and development. He said most of the population living in hilly areas of the Inderwal constituency has been connected with road connectivity and the work on various road projects is going on at pace. He said road connectivity acts as an indicator of development and help in both social and economic upliftment of the people. He also promised that next year the R&B department will start the blacktopping work on Trankhle road.

On the occasion hundreds of political activists joined Congress Party in presence of Mr. Saroori and expressed to resolve to work for further strengthening the party in Kahara belt of Inderwal. The newly entrants said that the track record of G.M Saroori in Inderwal during the past one and half decade stands testimony to the fact that MLA Inderwal is desirous of all round development in all the areas of Inderwal constituency.

Mr. Saroori while welcoming the newly joined workers expressed hope that they would work with enthusiasm and energy to give fillip to the policy programme of the Congress. He further said he will leave no stone unturned for redressal of their genuine demands.
