Congress candidates filed nomination papers for Municipal Committee Thathri elections



Will fight elections on the basis of principles and development

KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 27: -Congress party candidates for Thathri Municipal Committee election filed their nomination papers today. They were accompanied by JKPCC Vice President and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.

Mr. Saroori also addressed the supporters of the congress candidates and ask the Farooq Abdullah NC President to come clean over the filling of nomination papers of those who belongs to NC in Thathri municipality. The party has fielded the proxy candidates and said NC is having habits of making false statements, they give one statement in Delhi and other one in Jammu and Kashmir.

Saroori said the aim of Congress to fight any elections is not to seek power for itself but to build a national consensus by involving different shades of public and political opinion in Municipal, Panchayati Raj, Assembly and in the Parliament so that we could find a way in making J&K a peaceful and developed state. He said there is need of having strong and sincere voices who can take-up the people issues on all the fronts which till now has not been happening as BJP would only seek power for the members of the RSS. He said Congress always fight elections on the basis of principles and development.

Earlier Congress candidates reached outside Tehsil office Thathri with hundreds of their supports who were raising pro Congress, Pro Ghulam Nabi Azad, Pro Saroor and Pro Congress candidates slogans.

Those who have filed the nomination papers including Zainfa Begum from Ward No. 1, Asgar Hussain Khangi from Ward No. 2, Waseem-ul-Haq from Ward No. 3, Sayma Begum from Ward No. 4, Nek Alam Bhat from ward No. 5, Mashkoor Ahmed from Ward No. 6 while Munawar Din from Ward No. 7 of the Municipal Committee, Thathri.
