Action against teachers—the pillars of the society—is highly deplorable
KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 05: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today condemned lathi-charge on Sarva Shiksha Abhiyaan (SSA) teachers in Jammu & Srinagar regions and sought investigation into the brutal act of police in silencing peaceful protesters.
“Action against teachers—the pillars of the society—is highly deplorable”, Saroori said in a statement issued here.
Saroori said that instead of listening to the long-pending demand of the striking SSA teachers with regard to release of their salaries, implementation of 7th pay commision, they were subjected to harassment and brute cane-charge. The barbaric act and high-handedness of the police should be condemned by all, Saroori said and wished immediate recovery of those, reportedly injured in the cane-charge.
“The SSA teachers should be immediately paid their dues with effect of 7th pay commission so that they are not forced to take to streets”, Congress demanded
