District Hospital Kishtwar lacks proper staff





Several Deputations met Saroori; Seeks release of pending payments under MGNREGA

KISHTWAR, SEPTEMBER 10: - District Hospital Kishtwar that caters the vast area including the areas from neighboring Himachal Pradesh state and Gandoh and Thathri of Doda District having a population of over four lacs is lacking proper staff.

These views were expressed by Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori during his visit to District Hospital Kishtwar.

The hospital authority apprised the MLA Inderwal about the various initiatives and problems being faced by the patients. There are 50 different posts lying vacant in the hospital including more than 10 posts of general category doctors including posts of consultant Anesthesia, Medical Officers, consultant Dentist, consultant Gynecologist, consultant Pediatric (Child specialist), consultant Pathologist and consultant Dermatologist and many posts of doctors under NRHM.

They informed MLA Inderwal that it was not only doctors posts are lying vacant in District Hospital Kishtwar, several Paramedical posts including that of Senior Theater Assistant, Junior Theater Assistant, Junior Grade Nurses, Head Pharmist, Blood Bank Technician, ECG Technician, Plumber, Dobi sweepers are lying vacant in the Hospital causing lot of inconvenience to the management to cater heavy rush of patients in the hospital.

The hospital also lacks canteen facility as a result of which the hospital staff as well as the patients and their attendants suffered for the want of food, particularly during night hours. There is also need for opening of Medical shop within the Hospital premises.

MLA Inderwal immediately took the matter telephonically with Principal Secretary Health & Medical Education, Dr Pawan Kotwal and apprised him about the dearth of staffs in the District hospital Kishtwar, PHC Chatroo, Thathri, Bunjwah, Malanoo, Jakyas and others. Dr Kotwal gave full assurance that he will try his level best in filling the vacant posts in the hospitals.

Mr. Saroori also enquired about the health of various patients in the hospital. He interacted with the patients attended and assured them all help. He also wished for early recovery of the patients.

Later several deputations and individuals from all walks of life called on Mr. Saroori here at his residence Kishtwar and brought the issues of their respective areas into his notice.

While addressing various deputations from Sarthal, Mugalmaidan, Chatroo, Bunjwah areas, he called upon the need to clear the liabilities created under centrally sponsored MGNREGA and for the Construction of bathrooms under IHHL schemes. He said that centre government should wake up to the swelling liabilities of MGNREGA and Swachh bharat abhiyan in J&K.

Saroori urged upon the RDD authorities to clear the pending MGNREGA, Construction of bathroom under IHHL schemes liabilities of poor workers of the state especially Chenab Valley comprising of three districts Kishtwar, Doda and Ramban. He said that the hard earned money is being denied to the poor and hapless workers. “Department is unmoved to the swelling liabilities and the job card holders are almost feeling a burden for which the centre government is not bothering” said Mr. Saroori.

MLA Inderwal urged Governor J&K Shri Satya Pal Malik, Commissioner Secretary RDD Shri Sheetal Nanda to clear pending liabilities at the earliest and to give a healing touch to people whose payments are pending since long. He said MGNREGA is aimed to provide employment to people but by creating liabilities, Government is putting extra burden on job card holders of MGNREGA scheme.
