Saroori concluded tour of Kishtwar and Doda districts; took stock of working of Tourism department


 
 
 
 
Another TRC, Huts, parks and allied infrastructure will be developed in Sub-Division Chatroo

Kishtwar, October 01: - Member of legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, G. M Saroori today said the entire Chenab valley was treasure trove of tourism with immense potential for state to tap it. He said this after concluding his extensive fifteen-day visit of district Doda and Kishtwar and took stock of working of Tourism department, besides assessing the potential offered by the Inderwal constituency in the tourism sector.


Chief Executive Officer, Tourism Development Authority, Kishtwar Pawan Kumar, Executive Engineer Baber Hussain Ahanger, Junior Engineer Naseer Qazi and other officials of Tourism department were present on the occasion.


On the last day of his tour he was undertaken primarily to take a firsthand review of the functioning of the Tourism Development Authority and works being executed, while visiting Kuriya, Dadpeth, Mugalmaidan, Chatroo and Sinthan the MLA Inderwal laid stress on creation of infrastructure that matches international standards and discussed various major objectives of the department with the officers besides impressed upon CEO and other officials to redouble their efforts to achieve the said targets.


While inspecting Rs 7.83 crore for developing Kuriya-Chatroo-Sinthan tourist circuit, he inspected under construction Tourist Reception Centers at Chatroo, Restaurant and informed that under the project another TRC would be constructed at Dadpeth besides construction of way side amenities, parks, sanitation, viewing decks, creation of improved facilities for the visitors, Huts, construction of RC walls instead of cradles around Chatroo Nallah, public conveniences are also the components of the said project besides allied infrastructure will be developed in Sub-Division Chatroo of district Kishtwar.


Saroori also discussed about the transferring of Forest land to Tourism department at Sinthan, Maidan for construction of infrastructure at these places. He stressed upon the CEO KDA Kishtwar that the project should be completed within stipulated time frame with all necessary modern facilities for the tourists. He further said Chief Minister J&K Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has assured him (Saroori) that full financial support of the administrative department in execution of all projects in hand.


He stressed on the involvement of local people in tourism-related activities and laid emphasis on bettering facilities at the spots so that more visitors are accommodated. An amount of Rs.8 crore is being utilized by Development Authority of Kishtwar for upgraded infrastructure in Sub-Division Chatroo.


Saroori also visited Saroor area of Tehsil Drabshalla and met with several deputations. Interacting with general public and local Congressmen Saroori said that he will leave no stone unturned in mitigating the general public grievances.
