Saroori condemns burning of Quran verses in Bhaderwah

Hailed the Chenab Valley people including non-Muslims for observing strike against the heinous act; Pays obeisance at Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah

New Delhi, October 23: - Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal G. M Saroori Friday strongly condemned, what it said, the burning of verses of Quran in firecrackers on the eve of Dushera by some miscreants in Bhaderwah of district Doda, demanding legal action against those involved in the blasphemous act.

“Burning of crackers with Quranic verses written on it in Bhaderwah is neither any coincidence and nor does this occur due to the ignorance of the miscreants but it is part of a well thought plan and its only purpose is to hurt the Muslim sentiments and create the communal tension in the region,” Saroori said in a statement.

“Since the day BJP backed government came into power in the state, the mischievous activities in the Chenab valley region have increased at the alarming pace,” Saroori said and warned of serious consequence if the ‘conspiracies’ against the Jammu Muslims are not stopped forthwith.

He said the some people are hell bent upon hurting the sentiment of Muslims by resorting to such means which is by no means tolerable by anyone. “Such acts are detrimental to international peace, brotherhood and amity,” he added.

Saroori hailed the Chenab Valley people including non-Muslims for observing strike against the heinous act. He demanded exemplary punishment to the miscreants, so that no one ever dares to indulge into such intolerable offence in future time.
