Delegation of Gujjar Bakerwal called upon Bashir Naaz.

Jammu, April 10: - Delegation of Gujjar and Bakerwal community including Ch Noor Din Coordinator of Gujjar hostel Tehsil Chatroo, Abdul Karim Coordinator from Nagni Khara Doda District, Noor Ahmed Board Member Drabshallah block and Ch Rafiq board member Chatroo block today called upon Ch. Bashir Ahmed Naaz, Vice Chairman, State Advisory Board for Development of Gujjars and Bakarwals and apprised him of the sufferings and hardships being faced by the community.

Delegation apprised him that the Gujjar Bakerwal Community has always remained patriotic and loyal to the sovereignty of India and hoped that necessary measures shall be taken for bringing peace and normalcy in the troubled State. They stress to the Chairman for giving special package to the community for their development for the far flung areas like Chatroo, Bunjwah, Sarthal, Saroor, Khara & others and demanded proper implementation of Tribal Sub Plan for the welfare of Gujjar, Bakkerwal and other ST communities and opening of Gujjar Hostel at Bunjwah area of Kishtwar district.

They also demanded launching of special drive for recruitment of Gujjar and Bakerwal unemployed youth in army and other para military forces and J and K police formulation of Gujjar Regiment in army which is demanded right from the time of late Rajiv Gandhi grant of political reservation to the Gujjar and Bakerwal Community.
Ch Noor Din Coordinator of Gujjar hostel Tehsil Chatroo appraised Mr Naaz about the progress of Gujjar Hostel building at Chatroo block, which was sanctioned in 2007. They demanded scholarships to the students of the Schedule Tribe (ST) community.

Former Minister and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori who were also present, he asked the Gujjar and Bakarwal community to struggle for their legitimate rights by projecting their problems and developmental needs in right perspective and at proper forums.

Mr Naaz patiently heard the delegation and said various welfare schemes have been launched in the State to improve the living standard of the people in general and Gujjar and Bakerwal in particular. Government is making all out efforts to ensure basic amenities to all the members of Gujjar and Bakkerwal community, particularly those living in far flung and hilly areas of the state. He said special focus is being given towards the development of the people living in far flung and remote areas. He said that to ensure all basic amenities to members of Gujjar and Bakkerwal community, a massive development plan has been formulated to improve and create such facilities across the state.

Mr Naaz took note of demands put forth to him and assured that the steps will be taken up regarding their redressal at an earliest
