Create mass awareness about RDD schemes in the far-flung areas

Kishtwar, September 30: - Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, G. M Saroori today chaired a meeting of the officers of the Rural Development blocks of Drabshalla, Bunjwah, Thathri and Kahara and reviewed the performance of the various schemes launched by the department including of the construction of Panchayat Ghars, implementation of MGNERGA, IAY, CDF, MPLAD, 13th Finance Commission, and other schemes etc.


Saroori while receiving feedback about present status of the Panchayat Ghars, said that the main thrust is to provide basic infrastructure for proper functioning of PRIs. He asked the BDO’s to submit complete information about building status of Panchyat Ghars under their jurisdiction.


Saroori asked the concerned officers to complete the construction work of all the Panchyat Ghars within the stipulated time so that these Institutions may be able to function at a good note and can deliver the goods on the ground level.


Referring the implementation of MGNERGA on the ground level, MLA Inderwal stressing on the concerned officers for strictly the implementation of the scheme, he said that MGNERGA is also a major employment generating scheme, under which a number of un-employed youth can be provided employment. He asked the concerned officers to fulfill all the vacancies under the norms so that not only the un-employed youth can get employment.


Saroori also reviewed the performance of IAY, Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and asked the officers to work with more zeal and dedication. He told them that the common people especially the poor people have great expectations from them and stressed for early and speedy disposal of files. He further directed the officers to ensure that there was no delay in making payments to beneficiaries as per the guidelines of respective schemes.


Calling for creating mass awareness about the schemes in the far-flung areas, Saroori directed the officers of the department to hold regular meetings with the local representatives so that the benefits of the schemes reaches to the people and they avail maximum benefit of the same.



Concerned BDO's gave a brief about the implementation and status of the schemes. BDO Drabshalla, Bunjwah, Thathri, Kahara, other officers and field staff of the concerned RDD blocks were present on the occasion.

Congress condoles death of four J-K pilgrims in Haj stampede



 
Srinagar, Sep 30: - Jammu and Pradesh Congress Committee today condoled the death of four pilgrims from the state in the Haj stampede last week, killing over 1090 in the Haj stampede in Mina. Those killed in the stampede included 45 Indians.

In a joint statement issued by Mohd Amin Bhat, Haji Abdul Rashid, G. M Saroori, Chowdhary Akram, Usman Majid, Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Mumtaz Khan, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Shoaib Nabi Lone, Salman Nizami, Farooq Andrabi, Mohd Sharief Niaz, Abdul Majid Wani and others. In their condolence message, Congress leaders expressed solidarity with the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls.


They offered condolences to the family members of all those Hajjis who lost their lives in the tragic stampede at Mina last week. "Our heart goes out to those who lost their near and dear ones in the tragic stampede at Mina. I pray to Almighty Allah to rest departed souls in peace," they said.


The Congress leaders also prayed for speedy recovery of those pilgrims from J-K, who were injured in the unfortunate incident. They urged the State Hajj Committee to coordinate with the concerned authorities for providing best possible medical treatment to the injured Hajjis for their speedy recovery.


According to Haj Committee of India, four Hajjis have died in the Mina stampede from the state, who have been identified as Abdul Salam Dar (JKR-9416-2-0), resident of HMT Road, Zainakote area of Srinagar and Mehraj-ud-din Ganai (JKR 6955-2-0), resident of Patlipora Bala, Chatabal, Srinagar, Ghulam Muhammad Sargaro (JKR2532-2) and Sarah Begum (JKR2585-2).

Saroori visits Chatroo, offers condolences to Malik’s family


 
Reviewed the functioning of PHE & Flood Control department

Kishtwar, September 28: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, today visits Chatroo here, to offer condolences to the bereaved family of Jaffer Hussain Malik son of Ehsan Malik, who passed away on Friday.

The deceased was the Police constable in Dadpeth police post who died in a tragic accident near Mugalmaidan as a result of which the vehicle plunged into 200 meter deep gorge and landed on the bank of mighty river Chenab.

Altaf Hussain Malik, Tariq Wani, Mohd Amin Naik, Bidya Lal Sharma, Ghulam Mohd Kohli, Sheikh Basharat, Altaf Hussain and others accompanied the MLA Inderwal.

Paying rich tributes to late Jaffer Hussain Malik, Saroori expressed solidarity with the bereaved family, in particular the wife and children’s of the deceased, and prayed to Almighty Allah to give them courage to bear this personal loss.

MLA Inderwal spent some time with the family members of the deceased. He also offered Fateha and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Saroori has called for strong initiatives for re-charging the ground water table, adding that water sources are constantly depleting and there is great need of a well-knit strategy to raise the water table for a better tomorrow. He also stressed the need for stepping up of awareness campaign for judicious use of water in the district Kishtwar and Sub-District Thathri.

While chairing a meeting to review the functioning of PHE & Flood Control Department of Kishtwar division and Sub-District Thathri, here today, the MLA Inderwal stressed the need for improving the monitoring mechanism for timely completion of various on-going schemes.

Saroori enquired about the functioning of different water supply schemes of Inderwal constituency besides reviewing the overall functioning of the department. He asked the Executive Engineer to provide water connection to all uncovered households in the different areas.

He asked the officers to closely supervise the working of field functionaries to solve people’s grievances at their doorsteps and also urged the officers to expedite the works on ongoing water supply projects especially in rural areas.

Taking detailed appraisal of various components of schemes, the MLA Inderwal laid stress on strict implementation of sustainability programme which is aimed at to conserve the existing PHE schemes for a longer period. He directed the engineers and field staff to take all possible steps to improve the efficacy of schemes so that they serve their purpose. He also stressed the need for improving the work culture at the grass root level to provide better services to the people.

Issuing strict warning to the officials of PHE department for violating any norms while making operational new PHE schemes, Saroori said any lapse on this account will not be tolerated. They (engineers) must ensure all components including alternate equipment at the PHE stations to avoid any failure due to break down of electric motors. The engineers should also get themselves fully satisfied about the sustainability of source while conceiving new scheme so that the scheme serves its purpose for the designated area and population, Saroori asserted.

The MLA Inderwal also took a detail review of the Flood Control department and asked the Executive Engineer for proper maintenance and timely repair of important khuls in the Inderwal constituency.

Release salaries before Eid-ul-Azha, Saroori to Govt

Kishtwar, September 23: - Senior Congress leader and MLA Inderwal, G. M Saroori asked government to release pending payments of contractors and wages of thousands of daily wagers, casual laborers as well as salaries of the employees of various corporations including teachers before Eid-ul- Azha, who he said have not been paid a single penny for a long time now.


In a statement issued today, Saroori said: “The Teachers, daily wagers, casual laborers who work with dedication have not been paid their wages for the past several months. These people do a lot of hard work without any returns. He said that in view of the festivals of “EID and DIWALI” this is a time that Government would realize the difficulties of these employees and issue orders for release of salaries.


The PDP-BJP government had promised that it will bring change in the state, but it seems the only change they have brought so far is to deny wages to the hardworking employees,” “It is irony of sorts that these employees are not being paid even minimum wages,” Saroori said.


Speaking to the group of workers and employees of various corporations who called on him here today and have not received salaries for more than three months, Mr. Saroori assured them that he would take up the matter with the top authorities in the administration and also talk to the Chief Minister and Finance Minister in this regard.

Voicing concern over their plight, Saroori urged upon the government to release the payment of contractors, teachers and wages of these laborers on the auspicious day of Eid-ul-Azha.


In view of ensuing Eid-ul- Azha, Saroori directed the officers to ensure that the people do not face any inconvenience on account of security, traffic management, drinking water, power supply, healthcare services and sanitation during the auspicious days.


He said that all the concerned departments should work in close coordination and proper measures should be put in place to ensure availability of essentials including rations, Atta, sugar, Kerosene oil, LPG, meat, poultry etc on reasonable rates. He also called for intensifying the market checking to curb profiteering and black-marketing of essentials.


The Power department was asked to replace all the damaged transformers before Eid and ensure uninterrupted power supply during these days. “There should be no disruption of electricity supply especially during Eid-Ul-Azha,” Saroori urged Chief Engineer PDD Jammu.


The Municipality officers of Thathri and Kishtwar were asked to ensure proper sanitation especially in and around the shrines and mosques in Thathri and Kishtwar areas besides also directed the RTO Kishtwar and Doda to ensure that proper transportation facilities are provided to the devotees during these days.


Telephonically he also talked with DIG (Doda-Kishtwar Range), Nissar Ahmed, to ensure all security arrangements are in place before the festival in Chenab Valley to avoid repetition of “any type of violence” there on the occasions of “Eid-ul-Azha”. Saroori has urged the both the communities not to hurt the religious sentiments of each other and asking all the communities to come together and strengthen the cords of brotherhood, peace and harmony in the State besides urged administration to ensure peaceful celebration of the festival. The DIG informed the MLA that all necessary instructions in this regard have been issued to the concerned in all districts for smooth conduct of the festival.

32nd Gani Aloom Akhyaarpur annual day celebrated

Bhatyas, September 20: - 32nd annual function day of Gani Aloom Akhyaarpur was celebrated today at Bhatyas in Sub-Division Gandoh.

Eminent Muslim scholars, Management of the Madrasa, thousands of people and other dignitaries were also present in the function.

On the occasion Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, G. M Saroori gave a word of advice to students and parents. He said the Gani Aloom Akhyaarpur is a Madrasa where thousands of students get Deeni education and praises the efforts of Madrasa for imparting education to thousands of students and hoped that the school will continue to do so for the future time as well.

He said that the Madrasa was established by founder of Gani Aloom Akhyaarpur Madrasa Haji Ghulam Qadir Bhat Ganipori sahib with the purpose of producing excellent human beings his/her sound religious development. He also lauded the contribution of Gani Aloom Akhyaarpur Madrasa and expresses his happiness over imparting religious education and extracurricular activities for the students. “Describing the religious education as basic education to ensure the all round development of the person besides making him civilizes’, Saroori stressed upon hard work by children and the teacher of the Madrasa.

Saroori also remembered founder of the Madrasa Haji Ghulam Qadir Bhat Ganipori sahab contribution to Islamic preaching. "The loss, one can imagine, is more keenly felt by the kith and kin of Haji Ghulam Qadir Bhat Ganipori sahib and also from the people of Chenab Valley. He described him as a saintly person. He said Haji Ghulam Qadir sahib was believed to have attained pinnacles in mysticism and devotion to Almighty. He has termed Ganipori sahib demise a great loss that has created a void, difficult to fill. “Haji Ghulam Qadir Bhat Ganipori is a severe blow to Millat- e-Islam”. “In Haji Ghulam Qadir Bhat Ganipori sahib was rolled up several unique qualities; perspicacity of history, literary merit par excellence, humane at heart, intellectual vision coupled with humility and modesty and above all keen desire to spread 'message of humanity' in the light of Quraanic verses and traditions of the Prophet Mohammed (S.A.V.)," Saroori has observed in his speech.

On the occasion, students who have completed the Hifiz of Quran Shareef were appreciated and Dastarbandi was done to them by the guests and Imam Jamia Burhan Al Qadri Gani Puri. Madrasa children have also presented various Deeni program on the occasion.

Saroroi also provided Rs 100000- for the development of the madrasa. Dastarbandi was also done to Saroori by the management of the Gani Aloom Akhyaarpur Madrasa Bhatyas through Imam Jamia Bhatyas Burhan Al Qadri Gani Puri and other Muftis.

Others whose Dastarbandi was done including Jamia Masjid Imam Burhan Al Qadri Gani Puri, Haji Mohd Wani, Haji Ghulam Nabi Wani, Issaq Rashid Malik, Mufti Abdul Latief Butt, Abdul Majid Wani, Mufti Sajid Qasmi, Mufti Bashir Ahmed Lone, Mufti Bashir Ahmed Butt, Mufti Mohd Ashraf and others.

Saroori reviews functioning of Rural Development Department


 
 
Ensure successful implementation of all developmental schemes of the Department on the ground

Held public grievance redressal meeting in Kahara


Kishtwar, September 19: - Stressing upon the officers and field functionaries of Rural Development Department RDD to perform duties with commitment and missionary zeal, Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, G. M Saroori Saturday asked officers to ensure successful implementation of all developmental schemes of the Department on the ground in letter and spirit.


The MLA Inderwal said this while chairing a meeting convened here today to review the functioning of Rural Development Department of block Chatroo, Mugalmaidan and Thakrie blocks of district Kishtwar. BDO Chatroo Subuh Shad, BDO Mugalmaidan Mohsin Raza Ahanger were present in the meeting.


Saroori urged officers to ensure complete coordination within all the wings of the department and share best practices while planning and implementing developmental schemes so that people benefit from such schemes.


He said most of the developmental and welfare activities in rural areas are being carried out by the Rural Development Department and it has pivotal role in the overall development. He said there is huge responsibility on the department to contribute and deliver best for the development and prosperity of the areas.


During the meeting Saroori directed the department on various issues including checking of all the ongoing works before finalization of payment, construction of cattle shed in all the panchayats, no delay in making payments to beneficiaries after completion of the works, reconstruction of foot bridges where it is needed and got damaged due to flood or incessant rainfall, reconstruction of walls in the damaged schools and other important issues were raised for further improving the functioning of the Department.


Saroori directed the concerned authorities to clear all liabilities under the Indira Awaas Yojna (IAY), CDF, MPLAD, MGNREGA to the beneficiaries by disbursement of payments to them immediately so that they do not face any inconvenience in this regard. He further directed the concerned for expediting the pace of work on all the ongoing works besides also asked to furnish the utilization certificates to the concerned under centrally sponsored schemes without any further delay.


BDO’s and other field officers briefed Saroori about the working of the department besides various ongoing schemes of the department like MGNREGA, IAY, Swatch Bharat and other schemes being executed by the department. They also apprised Mr. Saroori about the physical and financial achievements of the department.


Assistant Account Officer Masood Mattoo, other staffs including Zahid Rashid, Irshad Ahmed, Altaf Hussain Sheikh, Shabir Ahmed, Arshad Hussain Mughal, Ajay Badyal, Kulbeer Singh, Mohd Aslam Qazi, Abdul Rashid Shah, Ragneesh Kumar, Imran Azeez, Abdul Majeed, Mohd Abbass, Mudassir Hussain, Maqbool Hussain, Irshad Kichloo, Pawan Kumar, Radha Krishan, Shabir Ahmed, Abdul Majeed Ahanger, Aijaz Ahmed, Mushtaq Ahmed, Mohd Yusuf, Shakir Hussain, Gul Ayaz, Ashfaq Hussain, Taneer Ahmed, Mehraj Din, and others were also present in the meeting.


Later Saroori also held public grievance redressal meeting at Tehsil headquarter Kahara in Sub Division Thathri where people apprised MLA Inderwal about various problems being faced by them. Tehsildar Kahara Ghulam Nabi Malik along with sectoral officers and local Congress leaders were also present on the occasion.
