“Health employees have been instrumental in providing better Medicare to the
rural people”
Kishtwar, September 02: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal G. M. Saroori on Wednesday said that services of doctors, paramedics, ASHA workers and other employees working under centrally sponsored National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scheme in the health sector unfortunately remain unrecognized in Jammu and Kashmir, owing to lack of PDP-BJP government attention.
Urging the government to redress the genuine demands of these workers who essentially act as the backbone of the structure of health services in rural areas of the state, Saroori said the Ghulam Nabi Azad as Union Health Minister has taken many remarkable decisions to make this scheme successful but PDP-BJP government has totally neglected these health employees who are contributing a lot in making the NRHM a successful scheme.
“Employees of NRHM nowadays are holding protest demonstration demanding immediate redressal of their pending demands which include regularization of their services, timely disbursement of honorarium and enhancement in salary but PDP-BJP government paying no heed to them,” Saroori said and added that health employees under NRHM schemes have been instrumental in providing better Medicare to the rural people, especially the women folk and their young ones”, Congress leader reminded the government.
Saroori also accused the Mission Director, NRHM of failing to project the employees’ concerns before the higher up in the state and central governments. The government must initiate a process for phase wise regularization of staff working under NRHM. It is a matter of their future as they have been working under the scheme for so many years but the department has failed to project and address sour concerns.
They are putting their best efforts to serve the health department for long. They deserve good salaries to meet the needs of their family and education of children,” Saroori said and asked the government to meet forthwith the genuine demands of NRHM employees and redress the same at an earliest so that the employees working under NRHM may not suffer any more.
