JKPCC, Congress MLA’s condoled the demise of veteran Congress leader Janak Raj Gupta



Jammu, September 13: - Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and Congress MLA’s have deeply mourned the sad demise of veteran Congress leader and former Member of Parliament (MP) Shri. Janak Raj Gupta (79) who breathed his last today.

In a joint statement by Nawang Rigzin Jora, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Usman Abdul Majid, Mohammad Amin Bhat, Ajaz Ahmed Khan, Vikar Rasool Wani, Asgar Ali Karbalaie, Deldan Namgail, Mumtaz Ahmed, Gulzar Ahmad Wani, Ch Mohd Akram, Congress leaders including Ghulam Nabi Monga, Naresh Gupta, Sham Lal Bhagat, Abdul Majid Wani, Mohd Sharief Niaz, Farooq Andrabi, Salman Nizami and all the other rank and file of Congress party have deeply mourned the sad demise of veteran Congress leader Janak Raj Gupta.


Congress leaders said “in Janak Raj Gupta’s demise J&K has lost a seasoned politician. The void his demise has created in the political scene of the State is hard to fill”. "He was full of political wisdom and in his death we have lost a great visionary leader who tirelessly struggled for raising the issues of the weaker sections of the society," Congress laeders said.


Referring to their close association with the deceased leader, they recalled his immense contribution as a Member of the Parliament, Member of Legislative Assembly, Member of Legislative Council and as a Political Advisor to former chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. He said the deceased will be always remembered for his political acumen, organizational skills and services he rendered for the needy, during the decades long political career.


Congress leaders conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the everlasting peace of the deceased soul.
