Forest and Agriculture departments organizes awareness camps at Chatroo


Will make all efforts to reach out to the people and address grievances: Saroori

Chatroo, May 24: In order to aware the people about the importance of agriculture and forests in human life, Forest and Agriculture Division of Kishtwar District today organized forest and agriculture awareness camps at Chatroo in Kishtwar District. Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori was the chief guest in these two awareness camps at Chatroo.

While addressing, Saroori termed the forests as a natural gift bestowed by the Almighty to the people of the universe. He said that it was due to greedy nature of human beings who are hell bent to destroy the forest wealth that ecological balance has been disturbed. He said that due to large scale cutting of green gold, the lands are becoming barren as a result of which the animals living in forest have become homeless which ultimately leads to increase in man animal conflict.

In the Agriculture awareness camp Saroori laid stress on issuing timely seeds and issuing Soil Health Card to all farmers of the area in order to increase the overall productivity of horticulture, agriculture & allied crops in the Chatroo. Saroori evinced keen interest in the programme and highlighted the importance of adopting scientific method to increase the Agriculture production.

During meeting with common masses at Dak Bungalow Saroori said that addressing public grievances is on my high priority. “I make sure to reach out to as many people as I can to address their grievances at their doorstep,” Saroori told hundreds of people, who had come to meet him at Chatroo area of Kishtwar District here.

“I would like all Inderwal officials to hold regular meetings with the public and address their grievances on priority,” Saroori said and added that people shouldn’t feel dejected and whatever genuine demands come from them should be addressed by the officials immediately.

Saroori, who was camping in Chatroo, said he will make all efforts reach out to the people and address their grievances. “I am making efforts to remain available for public, listen to their grievances and come up with solutions,” Saroori said. He reiterated that in order to save the expenses of individual applicants and deputations, the MLA Inderwal ensure to reach to the doorstep of the people to listen their grievances.

Meanwhile, several deputations and hundreds of individuals called on the MLA Inderwal and apprised him of their grievances. Saroori gave a patient hearing to the projected demands and asked the concerned officers to take adequate measure for time bound redressal of the same. He asked the officers to redress the grievances related to basic amenities on priority and within time bound manner.

Saroori was accompanied by District Agriculture Officer Rajesh Verma, DFO Marwah range Vijay Kumar, Agriculture Ext. Officer S. K Bhagat, Incharge BMO Chatroo Dr. Fareed Wani, AEE R&B Chatroo Mehra Anil Kumar, Range Officer Mohd Munwar Bhat, local Congress leaders including Mushtaq Ahmed Hap, Haji Ghulam Mohd Kohli, Haji Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, Altaf Hussain Sheikh, Santosh Kumar, Ehsan Malik, Bashir Malik, Mansoor Ahmed Mattoo, Somnath and others. Later Saroori visited various ongoing projects in the Chatroo and inspected Chatroo-Sinthan road and asked for time bound completion of all projects.
