Grievance of people, development issues highlighted in DDB meeting: Saroori


“Will not allow to shift the Bus stand and Hospital from Kishtwar”

Kishtwar, May 18: - Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori highlighted the issues which were raised by him in the District Development board meeting of Kishtwar district which was chaired by Minister for Health Bali Bhagat.

Saroori had projected various new initiatives, problems and demands during the DDB meeting. He has highlighted various issues related to different sectors which include no separate hospital for Kishtwar, extension of the existing district hospital Kishtwar. He also opposes any move of shifting of Bus Stand Kishtwar as extra land had already been acquired by the government. "You people want to take everything from old city area--- we will not allow this to happen as it will make the business community to suffer" told Saroori. To which Minister for health agreed to provide 100 bedded additional wards will be created at existing District Hospital Kishtwar and government won’t shift existing bus stand.

On the issue of CAPD department, Saroori said that corruption in department can be gauged from the fact that the families which were earlier having Below Poverty Line (BPL) ration cards are now being issued Above Poverty Line (APL) ration cards and the rich and wealthy families which were having APL ration cards are now being given BPL ration cards in utter violation of norms, which Saroori claimed as an ‘injustice’ with the poor and nomads of State. He also pressed for providing pending ration to the consumers of far flung areas.

On Dunadi-Bunjwah road issue Saroori said road is in shambles condition and JKPCC department has expended around 9 crores out of 11 crores but still is in deplorable condition. He asked the department to complete the road on footing to which department or handover to R&B department. The concerned assured members of DDB that road will be completed this year till October.

MLA Inderwal also pressed for enquiry into work done under SDRF in district Kishtwar. He said that DC Office Kishtwar is taking 15% as commission for the works which are totally fraud. He said only for few hours machinery was used for the clearance of landslides but the department has withdrawn 10 lakhs for the works that too without tenders. To which Chairman DDB form an enquiry committee headed by CPO Kishtwar which will produce all the facts without any political pressure.
Saroori also pressed for clearance of MGNREGA liability for the work done in the year 2013-14 and 2014-15 1st than work done in the year 2015-16, payment for the construction of IHHL works, IAY house hold, providing of seeds to farmers, sanctioning of NFBC cases which are pending since long, opening of news Animal and Sheep husbandry centres in Chatroo, Sigdi, Kuchal, Passerkote, Bonda, Keshwan, Srawan, Sarthal, Saroor, Bunjwah, Patnazi and other far flung areas of the district. Early start of work on RGGVY Phase II in which 25KV transformers will be replaced with 63KV new transformer, new poles, wires, argumentation of electricity in all the areas of Sub-Division Chatroo, Marwah, Bunjwah, Warwan, Nagseni, Padder and other areas.

He said that 7.83 crores tourism project Kishtwar-Sinthan stands sanction but Tourism department failed to work with vigorous and dedication to ensure the execution of project and also department failed to clear the liabilities of work done to the contractors. He also pressed early start of construction work Government degree College Chatroo so that student won’t face any hardship in future time. He also said that few so called people’s wants disturb the peaceful disturbance of Bunjwah area, as around 600 solar lights are left with the concerned department but few political people wanted to disturb the said lights in Patnazi area instead of Drabshalla headquarter. He said population of Bunjwah is 12000 and only 600 solar lights are left there will be law and order problem in the area and he won’t let anyone to distribute the solar lights at Bunjwah. He also said that proposal of solar lights for the left over 117 villages of Inderwal constituency have been submitted for sanctioning. He requested Chairman DDB for sanctioning of two link roads from Keshwan to Jungna Balla and km 20 to 25 in Sarthal area under CRF besides early resumption of broken water supply schemes and funds for execution of existing water supply schemes.

While responding to various issues, Chairman DDB Kishtwar issued various directions for immediate redressal of the issues raised by MLA Inderwal.


Earlier on the instance of Saroori--- the DDB Kishtwar paid tribute to late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and observed two minute silence to pay homage to deceased Chief Minister. Kishtwar DDB was first DDB meeting since the death of Syeed.
