“7.83 crores Kishtwar-Sinthan tourism project is under
execution; called upon the Tourism department to work with vigorous for
completing the project”
Kishtwar, May 08: - The National highway Kishtwar-Sinthan road will be made open on 11th of this month for the traffic, this was informed by Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, G. M. Saroori today.
During the tour people thanked Vice President J&K PCC, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori, who has been pivotal in pushing the Singhpora-Vailoo tunnel, Kishtwar-Sinthan Tourism Project, Kishtwar-Sinthan project and other projects through.
Saroori said after opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan road it will make shortest road link connectivity between the people of twin hilly and far-flung districts of Doda and Kishtwar with summer capital Srinagar. He said that since Doda-Batote road has been declared unsafe for vehicular movements after a several stretches washed away near Assar, Ragi Nalla, daily landslides and laid stress to connect both Doda and Kishtwar districts with the rest of the world by way of opening of Kishtwar-Sinthan road.
“It is the need of the hour that this route connecting Doda and Kisthwar with the rest of the world will be open on 11th of May,” said Saroori.
Saroori said that with the opening of this road, there will be a huge flow of local as well as foreign tourists to both these districts as both these routes are attractive for tourists. “We can give boost to the tourism pilgrimage also as numbers of religious places of different religions are located in these two districts as number of Pilgrims could not visit those religious places due to poor connectivity,” said Saroori.
He said that various proactive measures have been taken up to explore the immense tourism potential of the far off areas in the Sub-Division Chatroo as such Rupees 7.83 crores Kishtwar-Sinthan in which Yatra Sarai, Huts, parks and allied infrastructure is under execution. He called upon the Tourism department to work with vigorous and dedication to ensure the execution of ongoing projects well in time and projects taken in hand on completion would change the socio-economic profiles of the people of Chatroo.
Saroori also said that the dream project of Sub-Division Chatroo in particular and Kishtwar and Doda in general “Chatroo-Singhpora-Vailoo” tunnel is in advance stage and said that this is his priority to construct Singhpora-Vailoo tunnel in the next few years. The ambitious project to bore a tunnel between Vailoo in South Kashmir and Singhpora in Chatroo Kishtwar, once completed, will revolutionise road connectivity between the Kashmir Valley and the Doda region of Jammu.
