JKPCC condole demise of Dr. Romesh Chander

Jammu, May 03: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has deeply mourned the sad demise of veteran Congress leader and former Minister Dr. Romesh Chander

In a joint Statement by President JKPCC Ghulam Ahmed Mir, Senior Congress leaders including Sham Lal Sharma, G. M Saroori, Tara Chand, Raman Bhalla, Taj Mouhiuddin, Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed, Haji Abdul Rashid Dar, Ravinder Sharma, Chowdhary Mohd Akram, Ghulam Nabi Monga, Mohd Amin Bhat, Gulzar Ahmed Wani, Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Mumtaz Ahmed, Vikar Rasool Wani, Mohammed Sharief Niaz, Dr. Manohar Lal Sharma, Abdul Majid Wani, Pranav Shagotra, Hilal Shah, Salman Nizami, Amir Rasool, Mehboob Mustafa, Shabir Ahmed Khan and all rank and file of the Party Congressmen deeply mourned the sad demise of veteran Congress leader Dr. Romesh Chander.

The Congress leaders said “in Romesh Chander’s demise J&K has lost a seasoned politician. The void his demise has created in the political scene of the State is hard to fill.

"He was full of political wisdom and in his death we have lost a great visionary leader who tirelessly struggled for raising the issues of the weaker sections of the society," Congress leaders said.

The senior Congress leaders recalled Dr. Romesh Chander immense contribution as a former Minster. They said the deceased will be always remembered for his political acumen, organizational skills and services he rendered for the needy, during the decades long political career.

JKPCC leaders conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and prayed for the everlasting peace of the deceased soul. Dr. Romesh Chander passed away in New Delhi hospital today after brief illness.
