Saroori visits accident site at Karara took stock of the rescue operation


“Streamline Traffic management and strictly needs to enforce it”

Thathri, May 06: - Vice President JKPCC and MLA Inderwal G. M Saroori today directed the Doda district administration to intensify the rescue operation for searching the bodies of persons who went missing when their tipper skidded off the road and rolled into the river Chenab on Wednesday.

Saroori inspected the site of the accident at Karara and took stock of the rescue operation. MLA Inderwal was accompanied by SDM Thathri Abdul Qayoom Mir beside others senior officers.

He stressed to district administrations of Doda and Kishtwar for taking measures for improvising the traffic system on the Batote-Kishtwar (Sinthan) road and other minor link roads to minimize the recurrence of road accidents. He urged to cheek overloading in buses, operationalzing the Disaster Management at district level, phasing out of outdated passenger vehicles and induction of additional SRTC buses in districts.

Saroori stressed to streamline the Traffic management in the district and strictly needs to enforce traffic regulation norms adding that screening test about proficiency skill of drivers and vehicle efficacy running on various roads in the districts should be ensured at all cost. He asked the district administrations to initiate verification of driving licenses of drivers forthwith and take stern action against erring persons.

The Congress lawmaker also directed for generating mass awareness drive regarding various road safety measures which need to be adopted while driving in hilly areas so that precious human lives are saved.

Later Saroori also expressed grief over the damage to property of Mohd Qasim Chouhan, son of Karam Din in fire incident at Chatroo in Kishtwar district. Expressing sympathy with the victim, Saroori assured every possible help. He also directed the district and sub-division administrations to carry out relief and rehabilitation measures for the fire incidents.

He also expressed deep grief over the sad demises of Ghulam Nabi Keen father of Zakir Hussain Keen resident of Patnazi Bunjwah and Zoona Begum Wife of late Abdul Rashid Wani resident of Trankhal.

MLA Inderwal expressed solidarity with the bereaved family conveyed his sympathy and described late Ghulam Nabi Keen as pious and down to earth social activist who throughout his life tirelessly worked for the betterment and uplift of the down trodden sections of the society. He remembered the Zoona Begum the departed soul as a noble lady who lived a pious life.

Saroori prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed souls beside a place for them in heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss.
