Bhalessa, 05 November: - Army Sohanada battalion on Thursday organized a free medical camp at Akhyarpur jakyas area of sub-Division Gandoh in district Doda in which a team from 26 Rashtriya Rifles (Kumaon) Indian Army including doctors and paramedics, provided medical services to the populace residing at Jakyas Bhalessa.
Over 700 people of Akhyarpur Jakyas who benefited from the exclusive medical care including provision of free medicines were unanimous in welcoming this joint humanitarian effort.
Army CEO S. Bhardawaj, MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori were also present on the occasion. On the occasion Saroori exhorted all patients to utilize the facility of medical camp to identify their problems at an early stage. He underscored the need for organizing more such camps in remote and hilly area for ensuring maximum benefits to the people by this type of health care facilities.
“The team of doctors also provided the necessary guidance to locals to lead a healthy lifestyle. The medical team comprised orthopedic surgeon, physician, dental officer, pediatrician, nursing officers and nursing assistants which provided a wholesome health care to the patients. Many senior citizens were able to get their bone and joints related ailments treated and examined by orthopedic surgeon besides mothers queued up to get their children including infants examined by the pediatrician and take valuable advice. Most people sought the dental treatment and the team of dental doctor and their assistants worked tirelessly to see all the patients. They also provided information, education and communication regarding diseases caused especially during winters.
Saroori further said that the turnout in the camp today speaks for itself about the existing relationship between the Army and the AWAM. This was a much required aid provided by the Army in the area. People of Bhalessa thanked 26 RR Army and MLA Inderwal for organizing a medical camp at Akhyarpur Jakyas. On the occasion a workshop on Communal Harmony was also organized by 26 RR Suhanda battalion in collaborations with EESS&CS society Bhalessa in which many speakers speaks about the topic and urged the people for maintaining peace and harmony in the area.
Commander Vishal Sharma, other Army officers, President ReT district Doda Issaq Rashid, General Secretary EESS&CS Bhalessa Jamat Ali, Firoz Din Malik, Musarat Naik, Abdul Majeed Rahi, Mehboob Mustafa Azad, Abdul Gani Butt and others prominent were present on the occasion.
Later Mr. Saroori along with several other Congress leaders including Ghulam Mustafa Azad, Abdul Majeed Rahi, Choura Butt, Abdul Qayoom Naik, Musarat Naik, Akhtar Hussain, Mehboob Mustafa, Firoz Din Malik, Mohd Yunus Malik, Mohd Sharief Butt, Abdul Gani Butt, Chowdhary Hasham Din, besides hundreds of people from all walks of life from Challar, Amritpura, Belli, Jakyas, Bhatyas, Akhyarpur, Butli, Gondoh, Bhalessa and other parts of district Doda attended Nimaz-e-Jinazah of Mohd Sikander son of Mohd Rustam Butt resident Chinyas Gandoh who happens to be a uncle of Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad.
The Congress leaders also visited the Chinyas residence of late Mohd Sikander and offered condolences to his family. They prayed to the Almighty Allah for blessing peace to the departed soul beside a place for him in heaven. He also prayed to Almighty Allah to give strength to the family members of the deceased to bear irreparable loss. Talking to the mourners and family members, Saroori said his contribution to the society would always be remembered.
