Recalls former PM’s
selfless services to Nation: Saroori
KISHTWAR, MAY 21: -
Describing Rajiv Gandhi a man with great conviction, commitment and a
visionary, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Vice President, Ghulam
Mohammad Saroori who presided over a function held at Kishtwar today, paid
glowing tributes to Former Prime Minister and Gandhi icon on his 28th death
anniversary.
The Party leaders also
described the assassination of Former PM as an irreparable loss to the entire
Nation.
On the occasion,
Kishtwar Congress organised a function to pay tributes to Former Prime Minister
in which Senior Congress Leaders, Office bearers, Mahila Congress and youth
Congress leaders participated and paid floral tributes to departed leader.
Mr. Saroori while
recalling the services rendered by Rajiv Ji to the Nation, paid rich and floral
tributes to Former Prime Minister and observed two minutes’ silence as a mark
of respect of the deceased and described him as an architect of modern India.
He said Nation would
continue to remain indebted to the Gandhi Family for the selfless services and
sacrifices given by it for the integrity, security and safety of the Country.
The Country has lost a great & revolutionary leader in the assassination of
Rajiv Gandhi under his leadership, the Nation touched new heights in respect of
Education, Computer Science, Science Technology and other top sectors befitting
people directly.
Mr. Saroori said Rajiv
Gandhi who introduced Panchayati Raj System in the country was highly concerned
about the wellbeing of the people especially poor and down trodden section, who
had remained not reachable post-independence, but he (Rajiv Ji) introduced the
Panchayat Raj System aiming to involve the people, at grass roots level, in
their own developmental process, which also helped the people to know their
basic rights. He always remained committed to the cause of serving people, it
was his dream to see the people of India progressing, educated and self-reliant,
as a result, he took various revolutionary steps to ensure overall development
of the Country, they added.
He said introduction
of Computer Education and Science Technology brought India at par with the fast
developing countries, which proved a turning point in the development of the
people especially those who were poorest of the poor. India has become a hub of
IT due to the vision of Rajiv Gandhi and it touched the new heights in Computer
Science, they said.
