NC backed Independent Counselor join Congress, no confidence motion against BJP backed President MC Thathri




Kishtwar, July 11: In a major setback to BJP backed alliance in seven member Muncipal Committee Thathri, the National Conference back independent Counselors Dilshada Begum today officially joined Congress party and withdraw her support to BJP backed President Municipal Committee Thathri.

The National Conference Counselor joined the Congress in a party function at Thathri along with senior National Conference leader Mohammad Iqbal Teli, incharge National Conference Thathri Sub Division beside them several political activist including Imtiyaz Ahmed Hajjam Infront of Former Minister J&K and Senior Congress Leader, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori.

After joining the Congress party, the counselor submitted a written letter to Sub Divisional Magistrate Thathri with regard to withdrawal of the support to BJP backed Municipality President Mansoor Ahmed Butt and Vice President Gurukesh Gupta of BJP.

With the withdrawal of support, the incumbent President MC Thatri is all set to lose his Presidentship as he was left with only three members while Congress have four Counselors in 7 member Thathri Muncipality.

Speaking on this occasion, the newly joined members slammed the Inderwal National Conference for their failure in addressing the problems and issues raised by the people of Inderwal and Muncipality Thathri. They said that they were shown moon at the time of joining into the party, but they left them abondened at the mercy of the God. They said that NC in Inderwal along with BJP is a sinking ship added that it is only Congress party in Inderwal who can lead the Constituency towards the development. 

After withdrawal of the support by the Independent Counselor who join the Congress party, Congress will claim a stake on Presidentship and Vice Presidentship of Muncipal Committee Thatri beside also requested the DC Doda to order immediate seizure of power of Muncipal Committee Thatri without any further delay.

Later a meeting was also held with SDM Thathri and discussed various public related issues.
