Shows concern over
withdrawing of 37 SRTC buses from Chenab valley by BJP Government
Advisor assured for
deploying of 30 for Chenab Valley

Former Minister J&K and Senior Congress Leader, Ghulam Mohammed Saroori
called upon Advisors to Honourable Governor, Chief Secretary, Principal
Secretary, Transport Secretary & Secretary Disaster Management today here
in winter Capital.
G. M Saroori apprised
them about the tragedy and painful bus accident at Keshwan in which 37 innocent
people’s lost their lives and dozens of people are struggling for life in GMC
Jammu.
During the course of
meeting multiple issues apprised by Mr. Saroori includes implementation of
report of "House Committee" drafted by committee headed by Mohammad
Yusuf Tarigami, which was constituted for recommendation of safety measures
need to be adopted to counter frequent accidents in chenab valley. In the report
installation of crash barriers on all link routes have been recommended,
provision of government transport buses (SRTC), establishment of Work shop at
all district headquarters had also been suggested beside seleves of measure for
preventing accidents in the state.
Mr. Saroori also
requested them that there should be separate corporation to be named as
"Chenab Valley Road Transport Corporation" headed by concerned DDC's
besides this establishment of workshops in each district headquarters for
timely repairment of the SRTC buses.
He also showed his
concern over withdrawal of 37 number of SRTC buses from chenab valley to which
serious view need to be taken along with fixing of the responsibility of the
officals involved behind this withdrawal. These buses which were withdrawn in
year 2014-15 was provided by previous NC-Congress coalition government. He also
showed serious concerns about some politicians of district Kishtwar whose base
are on communal agenda and asked them to not play cheap politics on the death
of innocent lives in a tragic accident, he added that they are the people
involved in withdrwal of SRTC buses from district Kishtwar and have no right to
drop crocodile tears over the dead bodies. Mr. Saroori said that people of
Chenab Valley will fight shoulder to shoulder for better roads and traffic
system and called for the need to establish railway link to Kishtwar from Gool
Junction.
Mr. Saroori further
urged Secretary disaster management J&K to issue adequate equipment to SDRF
units Kishtwar and Doda, Specialized training to volunteers of local NGO's of
the area who use to work on the spots in these tough times. He has also hailed
the decision of Honourable Governor JK for sanctioning Rs. 5 Lakhs to each
victims.
The Former Minister was
assured by the concerned authorities that on war footing bases about 30 number
of new buses will be deployed in chenab valley, which will ply on all routes of
link roads of Inderwal constituencies and other areas.
