Conducted extensive of
Chingam areas
KISHTWAR, JUNE 12: -
After the Pathankot Court convicted six people in the rape and murder case of
an eight-year-old in Kathua district in January last year, Jammu and Kashmir
Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC), Vice President and Former Minister, Ghulam
Mohammad Saroori, welcomed the court’s judgment and said it will send a “strong
message“ to the rapists and so called communal peoples.
Mr. Saroori while
welcoming the court decision said finally, justice was delayed but not denied.
He said that it was not
the fight of Asifa’s family only but of an entire nation. “Such a verdict was
very much needed. It will now send a strong message that the system will not
spare the people who indulge in rape crimes," Saroori said. He also
appreciated the JK Police for getting the rapists convicted even though few so
called communal leaders tried to sabotage the movement for justice to a little
girl.
It is mention here
that eight-year-old nomadic girl in Jammu and Kashmir was kidnapped on January
10, 2018, and was allegedly raped repeatedly in captivity in a small village
temple in Kathua district after having been kept sedated for four days before
she was bludgeoned to death.
The main accused,
Sanji Ram, the village head, was alleged to have hatched the conspiracy along
with the other accused Anand Dutta, Parvesh Kumar, Deepak Khajuria, Surender
Verma and Tilak Raj. One accused was acquitted.
Mr. Saroori also
conducted the extensive tour of Bonda, Pahalgwar, Dumber, Mullar areas and took
stock of the grievances of the public. The issues raised by the people during
the tour early blacktopping on various link roads, replacement of rotten poles,
upgradation of schools, clearance of MGNREGA and IHHL liabilities, awareness
camps of various departments, laying of pipes for better dirinking water
facility besides other grievances. He assured the general public that all the
