CAPD food carriage scam worth Rs 15 lakhs in Thakrie Kishtwar

Saroori demanded thorough probe; slammed Police for not registering FIR

Jammu, February 28: - Congress senior leader and MLA Inderwal, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori today alleged food grain carriage scam worth over Rs 15 lakhs in Pakalan Thakrie area of district Kishtwar.

In a statement issued here, Saroori said that some officials at the helm of affairs managed drawal worth lakhs through dealer Pakalan on fraudulent papers on account of carriage charges.

Saroori alleged that he has all the record of the scam that clearly shows a fraud worth over Rs 15 lakhs on account of fraudulent drawls of carriage charges in the Thakrie area of Inderwal constituency.

“Interestingly, the daring officials and dealer have made fraudulent drawls worth lakhs and drawing Rs 365 per quintal but actually only Rs 100 should be charged from Kishtwar to Pakalan food store as Pakalan Thakrie is on the road side some 28 km from the Kishtwar to Pakalan. As the dealer with the help of some officials are drawing lakhs of carriage money to fill dealer and officials own coffers”, Saroori alleged.

He further alleged that in Kurna village of Thakrie, the dealer is taking the ration carriage money from CAPD and also from the people of Kurna from the last continuous three years. He said that if department is paying carriage in lakhs of rupees to the areas why the dealer is charging the ration carriage from poor people also. He said that this is also a big scandal which needs to be investigated.

Saroori further said that some department officials and dealer are putting dust in the eyes of the higher ups and they are involved in mis-management which is getting bad name for the department. He said that if the practice will be followed in future, he will not spare anybody and will recommend strict action against these employees and will complain to Crime branch, Vigilance department himself.

He has also slammed the SHO Thakrie for not registering any First Information Report (FIR) in this matter and it is not understandable that as in the beginning of February scores of people from Thakrie has complained about food carriage scam but yet no FIR has been registered.

Saroori has requested Commissioner Secretary CAPD, Director CAPD Jammu, Crime branch, Vigilance Jammu, DIG Batote-Doda range and SSP Kishtwar to investigate fraud scam and take legal action against the CAPD officials including Dealer Pakalan and others involved in the fraud so that general public of Thakrie will get justice.
