Mir’s appointment will strengthen party in the state: Congress

Jammu, March 04: - The Congress party said Wednesday that the appointment of former minister Ghulam Ahmed Mir will strengthen the party at the grass root level and will help to bring the party cadres and the leadership closer.

Congress leaders which include Congress senior leader G.M.Saroori MLA, Haji Abdul Rashid MLA, Usman Majeed MLA, Gulzar Ahmed Wani MLA, Mohd Amin Bhat MLA, Salman Nizami Spokesman, Hilal Shah Organising Secretary, Adv.Masood Secretary PCC while greeting the newly appointed president told media persons here that the decision of the high command to appoint Ghulam Ahmad Mir as new president of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee will give boost to the party and will help bring the party cadres closer in the state.

The leaders said that the new president will act as a bridge between the party cadres and will lead the Congress party to new heights. They said there is no groupism in the party, congress is a secular party and every leader has liberty to take decisions bases on his personal opinion. What is important is that we should end fighting with each other and get unite to strengthen the party.

They further said the PCC president should try to accommodate everybody irrespective of their affiliations. “Besides it, we are hopeful that Shri G.A.Mir will also make efforts to iron out the differences, if any, between the grass root level workers and the leadership.

I am hopeful that party leaders and workers will be more disciplined and will work unitedly to strengthen the oldest party of the country,” Saroori said.
