Saroori tour Thatri, Dunadi areas

 
Road open for light vehicular, directed executed engineers to expedite the clearance of landslide

Thathri, March 12: - Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Inderwal, Mr. G. M. Saroori today visited Dunadi areas of district Doda to assess the pace of progress of restoration work on Thatri-Gandoh road which was blocked due to slides and triggering of boulders.

Mr. Saroori was accompanied by officers of PMGSY, R&B, CAPD, RDD, PDD, PHE, Flood and control and other concerned departments besides local Congress leaders.

He himself supervised on the said road stretch with the coordination of district administration Doda and Kishtwar. While inspecting the road clearance work, the MLA directed Executive Engineer PMGSY and Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) to gear up their men and machinery and expedite the pace of the works so that road is cleared in the shortest possible time for the heavy vehicle also, as for the light vehicles the road was made through by the department today.

Saroori galvanized his efforts and was personally supervising the restoration work round the clock which has provided much desired respite to the residents of Gandoh, Khara, Bunjwah, Bhatyas, Bathri, Jakyas and other areas of Bhalessa and Bunjwah regions.

During the tour to Thathri and Dunadi areas, Saroori also took stock of situation arisen due to heavy snowfall, heavy rainfall and windstorm in Thathri, Phigsoo, Dunadi, Khara areas and directed SDM Thatri to ensure the availability of sufficient stock of essential commodities and provide them hassle free.

Saroori also chaired a meeting of officers of Sub-District Thathri and detailed discussions were held with regard to opening of road links, snow clearance from interior roads, restoration of electricity and supply of essentialities including ration, LPG & K Oil to the people.

He said the road clearance and restoration of important public services that have been affected by the heavy snowfall & rainfall should be first concern of the government officials.

It is pertinent to mention here that due to recent heavy rains in the district, a large portion of Thatri-Gandoh road got damaged at Dunadi area and huge population of Gandoh and other parts of Bhallesa remained cut off from the main headquarter due to triggering of slides at Dunadi and other places.
