Frustration visible in ruling parties: Congress

Empty coffer exposes state government claim; BJP showing lollipop to PDP

Dadpeth/Mugalmaidan, May 05: - Vice President PCC J&K, G. M. Saroori said that the people friendly approach of the Congress party has frustrated the leadership of coalition partners in Jammu and Kashmir, which was evident from their rhetoric and propaganda campaign against the Congress dispensation.

Addressing public meetings in Dadpeth and Mugalmaidan areas in district Kishtwar, Mr Saroori termed Peoples’ Democratic Party and Bhartiya Janta Party as two sides of same coin, who are bent upon to divide the people on the name of region, religion and caste. The divisive politics by these political parties, he said, is detrimental to the integrity and unity of the State.

Saroori said that during Congress tenure in J&K has unleashed a new era of development and prosperity. The measures taken to take the state in new height during Congress tenure and the state was starting bearing fruits and people have realized that those habitual of building castles in air have been actually hoodwinking them with their false promises and hollow slogans. But the present dispensation has made the state in worst condition as presently the liability pending on account of various components including MGNREGA, contractors, corporations, GP Fund, gratuity and commutation runs into crores and the government sporadically releases peanuts.

“State government continues to reel under the burden of huge structural negative Balance in Current Revenues (BCR) and the situation has further been aggravated by the unprecedented floods that struck the state in September 2014 resulting in colossal losses to life, landslides, windstorms, private property and public infrastructure in J&K and Chenab Valley as well. The damages have adversely impacted the pace of economic activity in the state also leading to erosion of state government revenues,” said Saroori.

He said that empty treasuries have exposed government’s claims that it has enough financial resources. He said Centre government is also showing “Lollipop” to state government as the government seeked special and additional financial assistance to bail the state government out of the current financial crises but it’s now more than two months after the formation of government not a single penny of rupees has been released by the Centre government that shows there malicious intention towards Jammu and Kashmir.

Saroori further said that some vested interests are hell bent to create confusion among the peace loving people on religious & regional basis by raising emotional slogans but the secular forces in the state like Jammu and Kashmir have to come together to give befitting reply to such nefarious elements.

Responding to the demands projected by the locals including Old age pension to the eligible people and timely payment of pension, augmentation of water supply schemes, clearance of pending panels in Education Department, issuance of Ration cards for the divided families, black top on link roads, health care facilities and improvement in power scenario, staff in schools, MGNREGA payment, Solar lights, MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori issued on-the-spot directions to concerned officials to mitigate the problems being faced by them and assured the general public of Tehsil Mugalmaidan that there genuine problems will be solved in a phase manner on priority.
