Saroori held a public grievance redressal meeting at Tehsil Kahara

R&B department will black top on Kahara-Kencha road, Bhatyas-Jakyas road, Thathri-Bathri road, Thathri-Phigsoo road

Kahara, 10 May: - Reaching out to the people of far flung areas of Tehsil Kahara in district Doda, Vice president J&K PCC and MLA Inderwal, G. M. Saroori today held a public grievance redressal meeting at Tehsil headquarter Kahara.

Saroori today reiterated that Congress party is commitment towards J&K state all round prosperity and development, adding that people are best judges to see the performance of Congress led government and other parties in this regard.

The MLA Inderwal who concluded two day tour of various areas of Tehsil Kahara including Kahara, Malanoo, Bitola, Kencha, Baghdeyr, Nagni, Gugara, Thrankhal, Goila, Bathri and other adjoining areas.

Saroori was accompanied by Tehsildar Kahara Ghulam Nabi Malik, BDO Kahara Pritam Singh, TSO Kahara Liyakat Ali Zarger, ZEO Bhatyas Reyaz Ahmed, SI Kahara Vijay Kumar, officers of R&B, PMGSY, PDD, Irrigation, PHE and all other Tehsil officers were present in the meeting.

The people apprised the MLA about various problems being faced by them. They raised the issues of the un-schedule electricity cut, shortage of teaching staff in schools, irregular distribution of ration in the CAPD outlets, bad condition of irrigation canals, staff for ISM centres, non-payment of MGNREGA wages and unavailability of mid day meal ration in schools. People also highlighted the poor condition of electricity and various water supply schemes in the area and demanded to ensure regular supply of clean drinking water to all villages and no un-schedule electric cut in the area.

Saroori after listening to the problems of people, sought reports from the concerning officers while most of the issues were settled on the spot. He also announced that this year R&B department will black top on Kahara-Kencha road, Bhatyas-Jakyas road, Thathri-Bathri road, Thathri-Phigsoo road and inner circular roads of Sub-Division Thathri.

He said number of welfare and developmental schemes have already been completed and various schemes and projects in this regard are being implemented to further improve the socio-economic profile of people of the area.

Saroori enjoined upon the officers to render their duties with honesty, zeal and enthusiasm besides redress the genuine issues of the public on priority. He urged them to expedite all ongoing works within stipulated time so that people do not suffer for want of basic amenities and stressed for close coordination in this regard and directed the officials to visit the villages and ensure on the spot redressal of the public issues highlighted by the deputations.

He said that Tehsil Kahara, Bhatyas, Jakyas areas are heading towards new era of development and all possible steps are being made to improve the living standard of the people of this far flung area. “He added that he is committed to decrease the people sufferings by extending every possible facility”.

Saroori urged upon the people to constitute village level committees so that the decision for overall development of the villages can be taken in open public and common man get opportunity to contribute in the Development of the area.

He has also released rupees eight lakhs under his Constituency Development funds (CDF) for development purpose indulging Rs 5 lakhs for steel poles and two new transformers for the villages Kushay Thawa and Kanoo, Rs 2 lakhs for ouni blanket Shed at Moharwari Sarthal and Rs one lakh for construction of Tanki at Mangthalla area.

A large number of people from Tehsil Kahara including Panches and Sarpanches of the adjoining Panchayats, Congress leader, and Youth Congress leaders including Chowdhary Abdul Rashid Kandar, Ghulam Haider Wani, Mohd Latief Mughal, Hafiz Farooq, Noor Maey, Haji Ghulam Mohd Mir, Haji Abdul Latief, Mohd Ramzan, Haji Ghulam Hussain Parray, Bashir Ahmed Sirwal, Chowdhary Hasham, Gul Mohammad, Mahan Chand, Safdar Wani, Parvez Ganie, Sher Mohd, Waseem Ahmed, Asif Iqbal, Sheyr Din Magray, Ch Ab Kareem Abdul Qayoom, Manzoor Ahmed, Abdul Majid, Mehboob Mir and others also participated in the meeting.

Later Saroori also held a meeting of Congress leader's, members and workers and informed that Congress membership drive is being held on the 13th of May at Kishtwar,14th of May at Doda and 15th of May at Ramban.

Vice President J&K PCC and In-charge Doda and Kishtwar Shri G. M. Saroori-(MLA) alongwith General Secretaries PCC Abdul Majid Wani, Yogesh Sawhney, Secretaries and Organising Ashok Dogra (Ex-MLA), Imtiyaz Ahmed Khandey, Pawan Singh, MLA's, MLC's and other senior leaders shall conduct the membership drive in the Chenab Valley.

Saroori invited all the members to attend and make it a success of Congress membership drive in Chenab Valley.
