“Presence of farmers in such large numbers endorses the Congress party’s charge of Modi government being anti-farmer, anti - mazdoor and anti- poor. Through this rally the Congress exposed Modi government and its anti-farmer policies. This rally has opened the eyes of the farmers to Modi's ordinance which is anti farmer,” Saroori said.

“The farmers have been educated about how the ordinance does away with the key features of UPA Bill such as 80 per cent consent of the farmers, the social impact assessment clause, return of the land back to the farmers beyond five years in case the work for which the land has been acquired does not start, compensation to the farmers 4 times the market price. The farmers were also explained about how the Modi ordinance does away with the ban on acquisition of irrigated and multi-crop agriculture land,” Saroori said.

"Looking at how the crowd cheered and welcomed the assurances held out by Sonia Gandhi, Dr. Manmohan Singh, Rahul Gandhi and Ghulam Nabi Azad, that Congress party will fight the farmers fight both inside the parliament and outside - it looks like the farmers are resolved and determined to teach Modi government a lesson in the days to come.” Saroori said and added that Congress has been “pro-farmer” party and continue to be so.
