Sinthan road to be made functional within two week’s time: Saroori


 

 
 
 
Hold meeting with Sarpanches, Panches, general public of Chatroo; inaugurated free medical camp at Chatroo

Met with Health and R&B Ministers at Kishtwar

Chatroo, May 30: - Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Inderwal, Mr. G. M. Saroori while meeting with Sarpanches, Panches and general public of Tehsil Chatroo at Dak Bunglow Chatroo said that the road connecting Sinthan of Chatroo in Kishtwar District with Vailoo from Anantnag side will be made operational within two week’s time.

He said road connecting the population of more than fifty thousands of Sub-Division Chatroo stands blocked due to heavy snowfall at Sinthan Top. He said that, he had issued the direction to OC GREF for early clearance of this road and within two week’s time this prestigious road will be made operational.

Tehsildar Chatroo Sheetal Singh, XEEN R&B Chatroo, BMO Chatroo, SHO Chatroo besides officers from RDD, PHE, CAPD, PDD, R&B and Revenue were also present.

Saroori asked the officers to involve the Panchs, Sarpanchs, in making plan of development works under various flagship programmes of the government and called upon them for positive contribution for grassroots development. He also listened to the problems of elected members of Panchayats.

He urged Tehsildar Chatroo, Mugalmaidan and BDOs to hold monthly meetings with departments which had been associated with the panchayats. Saroori also asked sarpanches and Panches to formulate charter of demands in respect of each panchayat and raise the issue during the grievance redressal camps and meetings.

The meeting also discussed the status of the construction of various panchayat ghars and various rural development schemes.

The free medical camp was also inaugurated and organized by Vice President J&K PCC G. M. Saroori-(MLA Inderwal) at Chatroo. He exhorted all patients to utilise the facility of medical camp to identify their problems at an early stage. He underscored the need for organising more such camps in remote and hilly area for ensuring maximum benefits to the people by this type of health care facilities.

The team of doctors including Dr Pandita Physician District Hospital Kishtwar, Dr. Abdul Latief BMO Chatroo, Dr. Syed Tajamul MO Chatroo, Dr. Mudassir MO Chatroo and other paramedical staff of PHC Chatroo did health examination of the inhabitants and provided consultation, counseling to the needy of all age groups including children, women and elders besides free medicines for the smooth functioning of the camp were also distributed to the patients, after their examination by the doctors.

Earlier in the morning Saroori met with Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Departments, Choudhary Lal Singh and Minister for Public Works (R&B), Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari here at helipad Kishtwar and discussed the shortage of Doctors in district Kishtwar and Doda & handing over of Kishtwar-Sinthan road to GREF.

He demanded immediate posting of Surgeon, Anesthesia and Gynecologist in Thathri hospital besides posting of Doctors in PHC Rahal Thal Kuchal, Sigdi, Sarthal, Patnazi and Mugalmaidan so that people of rural areas won’t face any hardship in this regard and in the better interest of the public.

While discussing with Minister for PWD (R&B), Mr. Altaf Bukhari, Saroori demanded immediate handover of road from Kishtwar to Singthan to central agency General Reserve Engineering Force commonly known as GREF.

Saroori said Roads and building department failed in opening and maintenance of prestigious Kishtwar- Sinthan road. He explained the Minister that earlier he has requested Chief Engineer BRO to handover the machinery of BRO to R&B for the completion and maintenance of the road but BRO have shifted their all machinery to other roads.

He also said that over 1300 labourers are into darkness as the R&B department has refused absorb GREF laborers in the department while at the same time despite the fact that many among these poor laborers were working with the organization for over 20 years.

Moreover R&B department do not have enough of machinery for maintenance of this road that leaves no other option left to handover the National Highway from Kishtwar to Sinthan back to GREF for its speedy construction as well as its proper maintenance.

The Ministers assured Mr. Saroori that being general public related matter it would be addressed on priority.
