Azad visited the fire-sufferers of far-off areas of Bhalessa, Batyas and Gandoh


Two day BJP executive meet at Doda but not even a single BJP MLA, Minister or MP visited these fire victims

Assured the affected villagers of all possible support for their welfare and rehabilitation

BATYAS, MAY 01: - Former Union Health Minister and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad visited the fire-sufferers of far-off areas of Bhalesa, Batyas, Changa and Gandoh of district Doda and announced various relief measures for the rehabilitation and welfare of the victims.

Azad took stock of the extensive damage caused by the devastating blaze in this remote area. He said in one year six such incidents of fire took place in this area. He termed it as sabotage and demanded impartial probe into it. He alleged that there was two day BJP executive meet at Doda but not even a single BJP MLA, Minister or MP visited these fire victims.

JKPCC Vice President and MLA Inderwal, Gulam Mohammad Saroori, former Ministers Mohd Sharief Niaz and Abdul Majid Wani, MLC from Bhaderwah Naresh Gupta, besides local Congress leaders accompanied Mr. Azad on his visit to the area.

At least 120 families have been affected due to the continuous fire incidents at Bhalesa in which 80 residential houses and an equal number of shops and other structures including shops and some Govt buildings have been gutted.

Azad assured the affected villagers of all possible support for their welfare and rehabilitation. Azad visited Batyas, Gandoh Changa areas of Gandoh and Bhalesa to express solidarity with people whose commercial and residential buildings were gutted in a devastating fire recently.

“Taking stock of the devastation caused by the fire, Azad was informed by people there about the details of the destruction caused by this. At this juncture, Azad expressed his deep sympathies with the victims of the fire and assured them of every possible help within the capacity of MPLAD,”.

Meanwhile, Azad inaugurated new Dak Bunglow at Gandoh, in Bhalesa area of Doda, constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 4 crores.
