Saroori convenes public grievances redressal camp at Sigdi Bhata


Benefits of development and welfare schemes should reach to the real beneficiaries

Several BJP and PDP workers joined Congress

SIGDI, MAY 19: - Continuing his streak of holding public grievance redress camps at regular intervals, Member of Legislative Assembly from Inderwal (MLA), Ghulam Mohammad Saroori listened to the grievances and concerns of the common masses during a public meeting at Bhata, Mulchitter Sigdi area of Tehsil Mugalmaidan.

The people hailing from Sigdi panchayats apprised the MLA about the problems being faced by them related to distribution of two months sugar, timely distribution of ration, filling of vacant posts in sub-centres/ISM health sub centres, issue of new ration cards for BPL section, repairment of pipes drinking water schemes, early payment of MGNREGA job card holders, construction of bathrooms, fencing to High school Bhata, improvement of electricity in Sigdi, detachment of teachers and opening of new Aganwari centres.

BDO Mugalmaidan Mohsin Raza, Naib Tehsildar Javed Ahmed Khandey, AEE PDD Banday, TSO Tariq Rasool, ZEPO Chatroo Fateh Mohd, Suhail Ahmed Mir, Maqbool Hussain, officials of R&B, Revenue, PMGSY, RDD, PDD, Irrigation and PHE besides local Congressmen also addressed the gathering and gave details regarding their concerned departments.

After listening to the problems of people, MLA Inderwal sought reports from the concerning officers and directed the officers for early redressal of the issues.

Saroori said the Government has failed to provide basic amenities to the people. He slammed Govt for betraying again the people of Chenab Valley for not allotting the RGGVY Phase II project and said it seems the administration has virtually decided to keep the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially Chenab Valley into darkness. He said that some rural areas of sub-division Chatroo receiving erratic power supply are for the most of the time facing numerous problems on account of low voltage and the people are compelled to arrange alternative sources of illumination during the hours, they receive electricity. He urged the administration to allot tenders of RGGVY phase II work so that people of the area will get regular power supply.

He express his grave concern over mounting problems of the common masses, he said that due to its mis-governance this regime has lost its credibility. He took the Coalition Government to task for its failure to provide even ration to the people in the rural areas what to say of unconnected and remote belts. He blamed the PDP-BJP government in Jammu and Kashmir for the unrest in the state and said the statements of Mehbooba Mufti have only "exacerbated" the crisis. He said Congress party is deeply concerned over the situation in Kashmir, which according to him is "sliding into total chaos". "The PDP-BJP government is squarely responsible for the sharp deterioration in the region from the last more than 3 years,"

Saroori exhorted upon the officers that benefits of various development and welfare schemes should reach to the real beneficiaries timely. He said that he is committed for socio-economic empowerment of the people especially those living in hilly, remote and far-flung areas. He emphasized on regular monitoring of the development works besides use of quality material. He said no stone would be left unturned in redressing genuine grievances of the people. He said that he is fully aware about the problems and burning issues of the people in the area and steps are being taken to mitigate them in shortest possible time. He said far reaching reforms are being introduced in all the departments to improve service delivery and expedite development projects. He said that the field functionaries of all the line departments have been directed to work with transparency, accountability and honesty for the benefit and welfare of poor masses.

He assured the public in general that MGNREGA liability will be cleared soon and directed all the sectoral officers to speed up the process of completing the documentation works.

At Bhata and Mulchitter Sigdi areas several workers of BJP and PDP joined Congress Party. While welcoming the newly entrants, Saroori said that BJP and PDP should play a constructive role in their government and should not play vote bank politics by raising divisive slogans. “The unity of people of J&K is un-compromise-able and they will not be allowed to disturb the communal amity and traditional brotherhood in the State”. He expressed hope that newly joined workers would work with enthusiasm and energy to give fillip to the policy programme of the Congress. PCC Vice president further said he will leave no stone unturned for redressal of their genuine demands.

The newly entrants said that the track record of G.M Saroori in Inderwal during the past one and half decade stands testimony to the fact that MLA Inderwal is desirous of all round development in all the areas of Inderwal constituency.
